If there are such things as musical constants in the universe, Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel must appear on any such list. Few, if any, artists consistently, through the years, have delivered such a consistent flow of quality music. The duo who hails from the Pacific Northwest are possessed of unassailable integrity and immense talent.
Acoustic instrumental music simply doesn’t get any better – period. It shouldn’t come as any surprise that these two supremely talented musicians have released yet another excellent album. A Moment’s Peace deserves a place on the CD shelf of any acoustic music lover, no matter how many previous Tingstad and Rumbel recordings already sit there. The CD earns my highest recommendation with almost laughable ease.

The music of Tingstad and Rumbel speaks to the heart and creates deep feelings of peace. Understated, yet powerful, the artists and the music encourage an appreciation for community and stewardship.
In a world filled with constant "noise," moments where we can leave stress at the door and be completely carried away into imagination and relaxation, are limited. Tingstad and Rumbel's music brings this much needed serenity to the listener.
Music has been called a mysterious power due to its remarkable ability to change moods, attitudes and even blood pressure! Over the course of their career, Tingstad and Rumbel have been flattered and humbled time and again when their music has been used for such important moments as: births, weddings, illnesses, deaths and other significant passages. Reluctant to suggest that their music is healing, it does seem however to encourage a sense of wellness and comfort.
This project was designed to focus on slower tempos which tend to support needed moments for rest, relaxation, reflection and rejuvenation. The title was inspired by a phrase that both their mothers would say - we would love a moment's peace.

Perfect
author: ChrisWe are die hard T&R fans, but this one is becoming one of our favorites. While we love the original pieces they have become famous for, we really enjoy their version of classics, especially Over the Rainbow. Looking forward to seeing them perform this live some day.

Another Unique album...
author: Kori LinaeAs the years have passed in my short life, I have listened to many New Age artists. Tingstand and Rumbel have always given their best to their music. Their music keeps getting better and better. A Moments Peace continues their legacy of music that soothes the soul when in despair or when one needs moments of downtime from the busy-ness of life. Very well done! I hope you continue on your musical sojourn! K
Another Tingstad and Rumbel Musical Gem
author: Jeff GouldenDear Eric and Nancy, I recently purchased your CD “A Moments Peace” through CD Baby. As with all the Tingstad and Rumbel CDs I own, I enjoy it immensely. I listen to your music every day while I work. It brings much peace into my otherwise stressful workday. I have enjoyed your music for many years and have attended several of your concerts. I admire the fact that you play large venues like Carnegie Hall and still find time to come to Sumner, Washington and play at Knoblach Park. You are truly musicians for the common people. Please don’t change anything you do.
As wonderful as I'd Hoped
author: timothy p. mcmahonT&R have done it again! A Moment's Peace will rank up there with their previous excellent material.
20 years and not slacking
author: andy plymaleAfter a 20-year partnership, recent 1st-time Grammy winning musicians Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel have gone the way of an increasing number of independent minded musicians, and have dumped their record label (Narada) to go it alone as independent artists. And as if to underscore this change of direction, the New Age oriented duo from the Seattle area have recorded their latest CD entirely as a duo, forsaking the piano, bass, etc., accompaniment that helped them score a Grammy win for their previous CD, “Acoustic Garden”. Recorded in Tingstad’s new home-studio, recently fashioned from his Issaqah home’s garage, the CD shows some new directions from the duo, notably in the use of single guitar line overdubs by Tingstad (fingerstyle guitar) and an occasional improvised phrase or two by Rumbel (oboe, English horn, and ocarina), who started her career in the improvisationally oriented New Age group of Paul Winter. As for Tingstad, he shows his musical allegiances by including an original composition, “Lucinda,” named after his favorite country singer, along with the Patsy Cline gem, “Crazy,” popularized by Willie Nelson.
A Moment's Peace masterfully delivers gentle power and pleasure
author: Catherine LenoxTingstad and Rumbel: A Moment's Peace is a masterful collection of beautiful, original compositions and innovative, warm interpretations of popular and well-loved classics. With every bit the gentle power of past recordings, from the soft, lilting Lucinda to the haunting arrangement of Over the Rainbow and the poignancy of What a Wonderful World, the CD delivers all its title cut promises and more; A Moments Peace. Top accolades to this gifted duo for giving audiences yet another tremendous piece of work. True pleasure awaits the listener.

music to calm and to heal
author: Dr. Tabitha Sparkyt&r have always had a great sense of tonality and song structure, and a moment's peace is no exception. going back to the grass roots of their origin, featuring both eric, nancy and their instruments alone, this album takes you from the painted deserts of the southwest to the emerald city in the cascades. a moment's peace is a tranquil journey through american culture.
