Tina's newest release, The Silent Awakening, is her sophomore album of original material. It follows in the footsteps of her first album with multi-faceted world instrumentation, yet features a deeper rhythmic flavor with African percussion, marimbas, cajon, Indian clay drums, kalimbas and drum kit, as well as piano, violin, cello, guitars, pedal steel, hammer dulcimers, and lush vocal arrangements. Her cast of musicians includes some of the greatest players in the fertile west coast music scene including: Greg Ellis of Vas on percussion, Darol Anger on violin, Robert Powell on guitars, pedal steel and dobro, Sasha Butterfly on vocals, MJ Greenmountain from Hamsa Lila on percussion, and many more. Tina herself plays piano, guitars, marimba and hammer dulcimer, and once again proves herself a talented multi-instrumentalist, writer and producer.
The Silent Awakening is a journey of a woman's coming of age; the story of a girl as she wakes from a dream of being lost in a lonely world and finds herself in a palace of the earth's delights with the sky as her limit. Inspirational, uplifting, magnetic and moving, the Silent Awakening accentuates the pure and enchanting, as well as the deep and luxurious tones of Tina's magnificent voice.

Silent Awakening
author: JennaTina's music is refreshing, poetic, and captivating. My family and I all enjoy this music when we are relaxing in the evening. I discovered Tina recently when I heard her perform in Orlando. I am so glad to have found this artist and I plan to buy more of her creations.
Inspiring and Moving

author: Sitkai am falling in love with this cd as i speak theses words. wow, tina, you're really a master of the voice. your instrumentation is incredible on this album. you definitely enlisted some magically excellent musicians for this album. but i am especially moved by your use of hammered dulcimer on this cd. I really love the feeling that "Heal This Land" evokes, it's deep. It moves me in my core. And I love the acapella layered vocals in "Sound of the River"... Overall, this album has me won over completely. Truly gifted.

author: Mike MontoyaI first heard Tina backing Shimshai on "Live in Maui". Her haunting vocals made that recording. I then listened to Shores of Avalon and was captured. Her Gayatri Mantra on Tina & Shimshai's "Jaya Bhagavan" remains one of my all-time favorites. Last summer, "Silent Awakening" accompanied me on a trip to New Mexico and I fell in love with this CD. A couple of weeks ago, at EarthDance, I, and a few thousand others, had the chance to see Tina perform many of these celestial creations, with Sasha Butterfly and on her own in many "tweeners" on the main stage. I recommend everything this heaven-sent artist touches. Divine!

author: AlI am again entranced by Ms. Malia's work. While i still favor the Shores of Avalon masterpiece, the artist brings the mystical closer to terra firma this time out. Her music is to be savored on many levels, yet i must admit i could listen for hours to her lilting melodies a cappela. I've regained a sense of excitement in an artist i haven't felt so intensely since the Sixties (and no drugs this time!).

Superb Spiritual Sound

The musicianship is excellent throughout and the sound is fantastic (bio says she trained as a sound engineer). I would highly recommend this. Word of caution on the thin paper cover, though: it's neither a jewel case nor a typical digipack, so my CD had a few scratches on it when it arrived.
Stunning beauty given a voice and wings!
author: GiaI loved Tina's Shores of Avalon and was hoping for a great follow-up. "Great" is too small a word for the alchemy of music, lyrics, vocals, instruments and spirit on The Silent Awakening. My favorite track today is All Roads...makes me melt. Tina's gift is beauty made manifest. I am in awe.
