With Helsinki-based Ricky-Tick Records (and ObliqSound, in North America) releasing Lassy's debut solo album The Soul & Jazz of Timo Lassy, we witness the emergence of a major talent as a soloist and band leader. His rise to leader comes after star-making stints with the globe-trotting Five Corners Quintet, Blue Note's U-Street All Stars, and Jimi Tenor Band, among others.
