notes

“Inspiration” is Timmy Dee’s fourth CD release and second album. The Inspiration release is a mixture of Country Music and Inspirational/Contemporary Gospel Music.

Timmy Dee’s first CD release was in June, 2001. It was a maxi-CD/Single, Gospel Rap, entitled, “Lord, What’s Up Wit Ev’rybody?” In August 2005, Dee released his first album/CD of Inspirational/Contemporary Gospel Music, “One Day.” In June 2006, Timmy Dee released his debut Country Music CD/single entitled Carolina Life.

Timmy’s music and writing career began when he and his family were moving from the Bronx, NY to Dillon, SC. He began writing poetry; then short stories and eventually songs. In 1971, Timmy Dee formed his first vocal group, Blak Vell-Vitt. Disbanding in 1973, Timmy moved back to New York to further his writing and singing skills.

In the late 70’s Timmy formed the last vocal group in which he would participate, “The Durations.” The Durations performed their first and only professional demo, a song that Timmy Dee wrote called “You Are The One.”

Since the formations of both “Blak Vell-Vitt” and “The Durations” Timmy Dee launched his present solo career. Timmy has been recognized with awards in poetry and songwriting, as well as recognitions in national and international publications such as the ASCAP publication, “Playback” (Fall/Winter, 2007). And the ISP (International Society of Poets) publication of “Poetry Today” (Winter, 2007).

“The biggest and most awesome recognition I’ve received so far to be blessed with is my letter from singing legend, Miss Mary Wilson of The Supremes” states Dee. Future plans for Timmy Dee include “keep on doing what God continuously blesses me to do. And that is writing and singing; to continue to be God’s instrument and vessel and to have people to see and hear what Timmy Dee is all about. After God, Jesus Christ, writing and singing are life to me.”

Timmy and his family were exposed to all kinds of music when Timmy Dee was growing up. But his favorite singing groups of all time are The 5th Dimension and The Supremes. Timmy also states he wants to be noted as “just a singer/songwriter.” Timmy Dee’s music is available on-line at http://www.cdbaby.com & DigStation.com.

Timmy Dee resides in Robeson County, North Carolina.
