notes
The Tiki Brothers are one of North America's most unique and eclectic new bands. They combine Funk, Soul and Jazz forms into an entirely modern, powerful and high-energy setting. Their latest album 'TIKI BROTHERS' is full of solid grooves and infectious rhythms. They use their formidable musical prowess to deliver a style of music rare in this day and age.' Their CDs and soundtracks for the films 'Ladies Night,' 'Moon in the Afternoon,' and Land of Saints, have brought them recognition and support from fans of Funk, R&B, Soul and Hip-Hop.
The Tiki Brothers packed their Moogs, a Hammond b3, a Fender Rhodes, Guitars, Basses, and Percussion and left their home in Venice California for sunny Vancouver British Columbia. It was in Vancouver that they embarked on their newest CD 'TIKI BROTHERS'.
In 1999, the Tikis travelled to London England to record a soundtrack for the film 'Ladies Night' which has given them a large following in the U.K.
Under the musical direction of James Tiki Graham, they have combined 70's soul and funk with new themes which result in contagious rhythms and grooves previously unheard on this planet.

The Tikis Rule the Groove World!
author: Todd CahillThis is some funky ass shit! Love the grooves every song has it's own vibe. Saw the Land of Saints surf film and had to get this CD. After all, Jack Johnson highly recommended these guys!
Unbelievable Funk!
author: Bradley MartinThis CD is an excellent example of low-down funk without the cheese! The CD is solid from beginning to end and is deep intelligent soul. I recommend this to anyone into Jazz, Soul, and Hip-hop.
Powerful Groove Jazz
author: Naomi TaylorBought this Cd 5 months ago and it is still in heavy rotation. Excellent moody and uplifting funky jazz. It reminds me of some of the early 70's Meters. All of the songs are different and this album defies categorization. Can't wait for another album by these guys. Very highly recommended!
Long live the Acid Jazz revival, this is the shit.
author: TomSuper sharp, stripped down Folk funk. The perfect surf movie soundtrack. Avoids the Big Beat and Trip-Hop pigeon holes nicely, without being too retro.
Rare Groove Royalty
author: Peter BrownThis is the funkiest and most percussive Cd in my collection. Very interesting musical textures weaving in and out from song to song. A very cinematic musical approach. 5 STARS and highly recommended.
Very cerebral yet totally funked out
author: Marlowe O'ConnorCheck it out! Nice guitar licks, complex soundscapes, good use of repetitive groove. I've had the CD for a few months now and still here new things. Highly recommended.
Super Funky
author: Curtis EvansThis is a wicked Cd! The grooves are tight and my head has been bumpin since I bought it.

The Tiki Brothers album is wicked. Very tight musicianship and an unsurpassed blend of Funk, Soul and Jazz. The combination of killer beats, great bass hooks and cool guitar lines make this cd a must have for any fan of retro funk and soul jazz. Favorite tracks are Louis lo Cost and Wood.
