We recorded One Eyed Poker in Monnow Valley Studios, an awesome studio set in the countryside of South Wales. Great bands like Black Sabbath and The Charlatans had recorded there and the place had a great vibe. We were due to work with Gordon Raphael (The Strokes) as producer but it didn't work out and in the end Chris Brown (Radiohead, Muse, The Beatles...), the engineer helped us pull the album together and ended up Producing it with us. We didn't leave the studio for about two months and totally lost our minds, which made for a really intense and creative record.

author: JohnI like these guys! "If your head is screwed tight to your backbone..." Clever lyrics! "...I agreed to play the game, but look at my eyes bleeding..." I can relate! The band can produce a righteous wave of sound that fills the room and gets people rocking. Thoughtful lyrics and an original sound that rocks. I look forward to knowing the Thieves in their formative years as they'll be around awhile... These guys are playing the High Dive in Seattle August 10th and we'll be there!
