notes

The amazing story of The Taylors started late 2006. Two childhood friends got together again after many years and started playing some music. It soon showed that they both liked the songs of Jackson Taylor so it was the natural choice to pick up some of his great tunes. "Broken" and "Gypsies and Drifters" were the two first. To spice up the sound, the younger member Tobbe came with his electric guitar and a background from heavy metal. After just some weeks of practice the first live gig came up, and went really well. The band still had not decided for a name, but after asking the audience, someone quickly responded and the name "The Taylors" was taken.

After recording two songs mostly for fun, the idea of a website came up. But since the songs were covers of JTB songs, the band politely checked with Jackson Taylor himself if it was OK to upload them at their new MySpace page. The answer came the same evening and was fully positive. Jackson really liked the idea of the Swedish cover band and so did his fans. After receiving many positive comments from JT's Texas fans, the band continued to play JT songs and also made some more recordings. It suddenly felt like the natural thing to do was to record a full length CD. And after 4 month of hard work, the CD was released. Several Jackson songs, including his latest hit singel "Lonely", together with some oríginal songs from The Taylors. The album has so far been a small scale success. The first singel from the album "Grey Haired and Tired" hit the chart at Folkradio.se january 22 and what happens next is still unknown. But one thing is for sure. One day the band will go to Texas to meet their new friends and hopefully even more fans. And most important, meet up with their source of inspiration, Jackson Taylor.
The music can be described as modern country rock with much honky tonk. Texas Red Dirt music with a Swedish accent!
