This unique compilation album includes a selection of studio recordings from new artists and bands who have performed at an exclusive event called ‘THE LOCKOUT’, created to source and present the best new talent to both the public and the music industry alike.
LOCKOUT Volume 1# is the first in this series of collections which present music from some of the most promising stars of the future.
Track 1 on this remarkable collection comes from singer/songwriter CATHERINE FEENY. This stunning song ‘Mr Blue’ is featured in the feature film ‘Running with Scissors’ as well as featuring heavily in recent episodes of the US hit series ‘The OC’.
Also included is a track from ANNA KRANTZ, hailed as the spiritual successor to Carole King, this 23 year old has already generated so much interest that her debut single is play listed on BBC radio and is on heavy rotation nationwide. Anna’s single ‘Sweeter Devotion’ is a perfect tribute to her fusion of classic sounds with contemporary themes.
Heavy hitters PASSENGER are destined to join the ranks of Snow Patrol & Keane as the UK’s hottest new band in 2007. Passenger is represented by the hugely successful team behind Robbie Williams and is heavily tipped for big things. Passenger’s music is an extraordinary mixture of acoustic folk with epic yet intimate hip hop and elecronica influenced modernity.
One of the most currently talked about artists is KARIMA FRANCIS. Feature in the Sunday Times ‘one to watch’ Feb 4th 200 Karima’s voice is so distinctive that it cuts through a room to hush a chattering crowd in seconds. Her soulfully expressive, unique vocal flights hardly prepare you for the intimacy and empathy that always follows. Attempts at comparisons include names such as Van Morrison, Tracy Chapman & Jeff Buckley. Following a huge battle between the major record labels, Karima has just inked her first deal and is sure to rise to great heights imminently.

Amazing new artists and songs on one album, must buy!
author: Tracks of my tearsI stumbled accross this when searching for new music. The UK is definitely providing some of the best new music in the world at the moment and this album is a perfect example of how many more great new talents there are still to come from the UK. The album as a whole is a brilliant collection of songs and styles from the deep and emotional tracks from the likes of Karima Francis & Mara Carlyle to the fresh, funky and no doubt huge summer soundtracks of the future by Mamas Gun and Kris Buckle. Honestly this is one album that is going to be on auto repeat for a good long while on my stereo!
