notes

Featuring the stunning lead vocal of Deen Castronovo of Journey, The Hitmaker’s Don’t Stop Believin’ contains four remixes of the radio anthem that will rock the dancefloor and destroy preconceptions. More than just “club mixes,” these tracks are expansions of the key ingredients that made the original Journey recording such a massive hit.

PLEASE NOTE: The "Acoustic Soul" mix is NOT on this version of the CD; that mix is available ONLY via download at the iTunes Music Store, eMusic, etc. This CD contain the four Dance remixes....

About The Hitmaker:
The Hitmaker is revitalizing dance music with other mind-boggling remixes of unlikely-yet-perfect dancefloor anthems by Journey, The Who, Styx, Survivor, REO Speedwagon, and others; recontextualizing songs that have never been considered to be remotely danceable. The Hitmaker says, “My remixes bring the song to light in a new context, where people can enjoy the magic of the melody without the stigma of, ‘You’re listening to Journey?!’ It reveals a new side to this great song that’s been neglected until now. And it gives me a chance to celebrate and revive the music that I grew up listening to on the radio.”

In addition to live shows with Rjd2 and others, The Hitmaker has produced and remixed for several artists, including a recent remix of the title track of Glen Burtnik's "Welcome to Hollywood," remixes of "The Theme From Hot Doug's," and others.

I really liked this CD- something different from the original- but the first song is a little jumpy in places and it cuts off the don't stop part -like it was a mistake. More samples would have been nice. My favorite mix is the 2nd recording.
