notes
With a musical style that defies most labels, but is best described as "swinging blues," this debut effort from The Bluescasters consists of 13 songs, ten of which are original compositions.
Likened to a "musical road trip," the songs on Five Dimes reflect the various regional styles of Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans and Texas. Always entertaining, The Bluescasters use unique arrangements, diverse musical backgrounds and vocal harmony to distinguish themselves from other blues bands. The melodies are infectious and the lyrics are intriguing and thoughtful. This is a fine first effort from this Ann Arbor, Michigan area band.

Catchy and slick
author: Dee MannFirst thing I noticed is that I didn't have to hear the songs twenty times for them to get stuck in my head. You find yourself humming one or two of these after the first play. Second thing I noticed...I couldn't help listening twenty times anyway. Great original blues!
Rockin HOT!
author: Candice AdamsCD is fabulous...and their own songs are the best. These are not whiney blues - this is rockin hot!!!! This is music that makes you MOVE!!!! Talented group is an understatement!
Great mix of rock & blues
author: Rita WygonikI was introduced to this CD by Ron Balicki; the tunes are a great mix of good ol' blues with a kick of rock and roll. I actually bought the CD to give as a gift; I'll just have to get another. I'm going to keep this one!
It's got that new old feeling
author: Ron BalickiThis CD is like putting on an old pair of slippers. You haven't heard the songs before, but they remind you of all those great old tunes you used to love to listen to, except these are new and fresh.
