notes
Jennifer Terran’s highly personal, inventive music has inspired rave responses from music lovers and publications all over the world (Telerama, Uncut, Rolling Stone, Oor etc.). Her albums have made several top-ten lists including “Second Best Album of the Year” (for her 'THE MUSICIAN') in the Times of London.
RABBIT, Terran's sophmore release, was produced by Terran and engineered by Julie Last, who's engineering credits include Joni Mitchell's "Turbulent Indigo"; Ricki Lee Jones' "Traffic From Paradise", Sean Colvin, John Lennon and others.
This elaborate EP is achingly beautiful, fun, sometimes humorous and like all of Terran's music, refreshingly original. From her mock glamour album cover & sung thank you list, to her poignant songs & powerful delivery- 'Rabbit' is one of her more experimental recordings to date.
PRESS QUOTES
"A HIGH INTENSITY APPROACH TO POP: Her songs are intense, personal… she has the voice to pull it off and sounds a lot like, well, Jennifer Terran. Grade A"
LOS ANGELES TIMES
"Often compared with Tori Amos, in my regard, Terran is singer/songwriter of a higher caliber."
UNIVERSITY REPORTER
"There's something going on here, something different and real that sticks. Remarkable... equal to that of a young Joni Mitchell." - L.A. WEEKLY
"Endowed with a voice or heartbreaking purity and with a melodic talent, Jennifer Terran will most likely rise rapidly to the level of the greats."
TELARAMA (Paris, France)
"Breathtaking... timeless... pure... monumental.... Categorizing Jennifer Terran is impossible. Terran is a style of her own."
OOR MAGAZINE - (Netherlands)
"Haunting and intense, she sounds like a rawer version of Tori Amos. But Terran possesses a uniquely fierce and uncommon uncompromising voice"
UNCUT - (London, UK)
"Jennifer Terran is an unusual, very unusual kind of artist and quite a woman! A truly magnificent Film Noire Diva and a world-class songwriter-singer. This woman is unique, captivating vocalist, pianist, tenderly rebellious songwriter, producer by raison d'etre and necessity, hip-hop dynamic instructor and dancer, story-teller, an existentialist philosopher, an emotionally and intellectually charged teaser and provocative presence and most certainly a daring-devil entrepreneur."
HERALD TIMES PARADE - (London, UK)
"Not everybody can be both scary and vulnerable; Jennifer Terran (pronounced tearin') can. The scary part is her voice, which spirals into regions so high you fear she'll disappear or crash, and lately it has acquired a diamond-dust edge that can saw through a stack of hearts, first of all her own."
LA WEEKLY - (USA)
"If Jennifer Terran has a voice as much incomparable as unforgettable, it is because she is also that in real life. Her authentic and sensual voice awakes up in us emotions so deep inside that thinking of it makes nearly crying of pain or joy, as if truth had a price."
MURMURES - (Switzerland)
"Pure, that was this concert in one word. No setlist, no décor, only a small lady, with a voice like a storm behind the piano"
STORYVILLE MAGAZINE - (Netherlands)
"The music of Jennifer Terran is so beautiful it hurts."
CULTURE - (Netherlands)

a work in progress
author: DanielThis is more of an EP than a full album. The songs are strange, moody, atmospherics. The work here seems more based on the voice than on the music.
um...
author: JessicaThis cd gives new meaning to the words weird but cool... it's a very different style than what i was used to but it's ok the only thing that kills me, i hate buying a cd that you think might be at least 45 minutes, and then it's ONLY bearly 20!, not fair to charge full price!
