For more than forty years, the Temptations have prospered, propelling popular music with a series of smash hits and sold-out performances throughout the world.
The Temps began their musical life in Detroit in the early sixties. It wasn't until 1964, however, that the Smokey Robinsin written-and-produced "The Way You Do the Things You Do" turned the guys into stars.
An avalanche of hits followed, many of which - "My Girl," for instance-attained immortality. "Aint't Too Proud to Beg," "Beauty Is Only Skin Deep," "Get Ready"-the hits kept coming.

The classic lineup was Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin. Beyond the fabulous singing, the Temps became known for smooth stepping and flawless presentations. The Temptation Walk became a staple of American style, Flair, flash and class. Millions of fans saw their Temptations as cultural heroes.

When the sixties and seventies turned political, the Temps got serious. They changed their tone, dress and music. Producer Norman Whitfield led the way. His Temptations hits, many featuring Dennis Edwards who had replaced David Ruffin, burned with intensity. "Cloud Nine," "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" and "Ball of Confusion" still smolder.

No matter the change in personnel, the Temptations remained true to the Temptations tradition. They survived the whims of fashion, whether disco or techno, and stuck to their guns.

Then in the nineties, another Temptation explosion:

It included the NBC mini series that chronicled the group's history, a ratings triumph over two nights in prime time. This CD includes one of the most sort after song today, Smokey Robinson's "Really Gonna Miss You" featured in the mini-series at Melvin's funeral.

The more they change, the more they stay true to themselves. They're about singing straight-up soul. It's a style that will live on forever."

The Temptations which now feature Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, GC Cameron and Joe Herndon, have also released their 60th and final Motown album "LEGACY".

With Legacy already climbing the charts, and the group performing everywhere from Atlanta to Athens more than 40 weeks a year, the Temptations continue to move with grace and charm.

    Why are they selling this CD for $99.99? I love the Temptations and I have mostly all of their CD's but Voice Distributions is ripping the public off on the price of this CD. If it was selling for $9.99 when the movie was a mini series on TV, then why now is it selling for $99.99?     The CD sounds really good and you can't tell them apart. All of my favorite songs like I want a Love I can See, Papa was a rollin stone, cloud nine,etc. I can sit back and chill or jam!!!

    Hey there, i just wanted to say that THE TEMPTATIONS was the best Movie out and Me and my Husband Just loved it. And not only do i LOVE The Temptations but i LOVE the ones who acted in the Movie, even though they werent the real Temps i Just Loved them to Death, and the David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams actors Were honestly my Favourite and I loved everyone else Just that those 3 Stood out the most. But Otis Williams Loved you too and how you kept the group in line, but you cant contoll everything, big ups to you and still Love you. Much Love and I wouldnt mind meeting them. Lol!!

    I am obsessed with this movie. I think Leon does a fabulous job portraying the character of David Ruffin. I also think Terron Brooks, Christian Payton, D. B. Woodside and David Malik Witfield do great jobs. I also think Otis Williams and Shelly Berger did an unbelievable job directing this film. Ever since my mother bought me this great film 2 weeks ago I cant get over the temptations. "Temptation... Forever".

    I love the temptations! & Im 16 years old !The movie is awesome!     This cd is a phenominal put together. The includence of the best songs of Temptations and of Smokey Robinson Make having it worth it. Just a strategic stategy in which the cd is laid out is out of this world(makes me smile) although I must say seeing as ,My girl, is my favorite song of course I believe it should of been first but then again the layout is terific as is.     A good, although not comprehensive, selection of Temptations material. The real bonus of this CD is the inclusion of the beautiful "really gonna miss you" performed by Smokey Robinson. As far as I know this is the only CD that contains that particular track so, in my opinion, well worth the money for that alone.
