notes

Temple's passionate lyrics and powerful voice soar over her sophisticated pop tunes providing listeners with "first-rate," truly original adult contemporary rock music.

From the intensely emotional to the edgy and ethereal, she has the power to create a provocative encounter by writing engaging music inspired by poignant life experiences.

Whether performing solo with guitar or piano, or with her band, Temple communicates with audiences in a manner that rivals today's top singer/songwriters.

Her music goes beyond the well-beaten path of the average tune-smith.

The mature compositions, memorable melodies, poetic lyrics and engaging narratives draw the listener in as she relates personal experiences in ways that touch universal chords.

Temple's dynamic songwriting and performances have earned her the praise of critics and awards in songwriting competitions.

The national periodical, Songwriter's Monthly, says Temple is "an intriguing songwriter and performer [whose] music swells and releases with a natural breath.

Her album needs to be experienced...." The Illinois Entertainer compliments Temple's strong voice and cites "Should I Believe" as "a first-rate song with a great melody." "Wanting You" was a winner of Pheifer Music's national "Ad Band" competition, an honor which brought her and her band to perform at LA's renowned Mint Club to an overwhelmingly receptive audience.

"Wanting You" is also a winner of the international Future Charters songwriting contest sponsored by Songwriter's Monthly.

Temple has been performing professionally from the age of eight.

As a child, she starred in equity musical theatre productions in the Chicago area and was chosen among thousands of hopefuls worldwide as one of the finalists to play the lead role in the 1983 movie "Annie." She continued performing with tremendous acclaim through high school and college.

While living in Georgia, she was a featured singer at the 1993 Atlanta Jazz Festival and sang with renowned acts including Peobo Bryson.

In Chicago, High profile and prestigious opportunities to display her vocal prowess have continued most notable with Gloria Estefan of the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Temple's songs are a hybrid of her musical influences, experience and education.

She finds inspiration in emotionally driven writers, including Joni Mitchell, Sting, Peter Gabriel and Patti Griffin.

"Music was always played in my house. As a child, I was surrounded by my parent's recordings of great singers and songwriters like Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Roberta Flack, to name a few." While most children participated in after-school sports, Temple juggled classical voice and piano, acting, and dance lessons in her hometown of South Bend, Indiana.

Her classical training continued in high school at Interlochen Arts Academy. On music scholarship at the University of Miami she was introduced to jazz and world music.

Temple's soulful approach to singing was later refined while living in Atlanta where she toured extensively with various R&B bands.

Upon moving to Chicago, Temple looked for musicians who complimented her style of songwriting.

After auditioning many musicians Temple found her band.

"Harmonically and rhythmically speaking, some of my songs can be a bit complex for their 'pop' genre, and I think of my tunes as mini-compositions that require great dynamic detail.

My band is able to handle both the technical and musical elements of my songs." Temple currently plays out in Chicago with her fully charged band and also in more intimate, acoustical settings.

Catch one of her shows and see star-power in action.

Temple has that rare gift for songwriting that cannot and should not be overlooked!

I listened to this cd over and over again. It's a true piece of art. She's one of the best female vocalists I've ever heard, I truly can't wait for more releases. I highly recommend it.
