notes

"Capturin consciousness, categorically killin lies/ instillin intelligence and opening eyes" spits Zach Lost on the upbeat, lyrically sharp 'Pack a Pen', one of the first four recorded tracks for two Jersey Hip Hoppers. Zach Lost along with Skeptik combine to form the Hip Hop duo Thought Breakers. The two MCs have been collaborating since '01, and have developed a vibe and chemistry that crowds and critics alike have dubbed as 'dope', 'complimentary', 'a perfect blend voice-wise... always interesting' and 'successful on several levels, live, recorded... etc'. In a time where Hip Hop has gone from innovative sub-cultural movement to mainstream trend/advertisement for negativity; it is refreshing to find MCs that can keep heads nodding and drop socially relevant lyrics at the same time.

Drawing from the influence of artists such as KRS-One, The Roots, Digable Planets, Black Star, Big Daddy Kane, Public Enemy and The Fugees, as well as Langston Hughes, Gill Scott Heron, Saul Williams and many others; the Thought Breakers have been committed to bringing true Hip Hop laced with creativity and consciousness to any individual or crowd willing to listen.

**With a split at the begining of '05, Zach has begun to pursue his solo efforts as well as building/recording/performing with many other artists, bands, emcees, and producers. Currently he is digging back into the underground. Always looking to move forward and contribute to the progression of the cuture, Zach is set to rock any stage, mic or cypher in the vicinity.

Cop the first and only EP released by the Thought Breakers before they're all gone!

These guys are going somewhere. That is if they don't try to go the showboat route which clearly isn't for them. If they keep doing their music just like this, they'll be huge!

  • Great Stuff!
    author: Lee

Simply good stuff. I am admittedly speechless, as conjuring words to describe their fine mastering of words would leave anything I said as understated. These are a lyricist's lyricists. Production is very solid. Wow! Great stuff. Can't wait for more.

  • Weird

  • I like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    author: BABA ZOOM

Bangin production, and the emcees have distinct vocal tones, an often lost art in the hip hop hustle. March on souljahs........
