Marc Baum Green Mountain Music Productions ******************************** Blazin Bluegrass indeed! By: Marc Baum Two words describe Todd Taylors new CD 'Blazin Bluegrass Banjo'. Those words are pure genius. You would be hard pressed to find anyone in the field who is a more accurate, more talented, or more articulate banjo player. Todd's play is remarkable. He speaks directly to the listener with out the use of words. The pictures painted in your mind's eye, tell a story. A story of life, times shared and times remembered, and the music of those times. His fingers never miss, and never is a word I seldom use. From the opening notes of 'Rawhide' you undergo a transformation from listener to participant. By the time you reach the halfway mark of this practical party on a disk, you are visibly smiling and tapping your foot along with the music. It's an uncontrollable, infectious reaction that even listeners who are not bluegrass fans, will be forced to succumb to. You finally realize that something special, if not truly amazing, is happening. It is a spectacle for your ears and for your mind. This project is a exhilarating thrill ride masquerading as a musical endeavor. Any theme park in the world would pay handsomely to have the same effect on people as Todd has managed to do. His music is reminiscent of a time when musicians played genuine instruments and had undoubted talent. There are fourteen tracks on this CD and each stands out. It is refreshing to have such a phenomenal, enchanting project come along, as well as remarkably rare. Having to pick the three top tracks on the CD, I would choose the dizzying and aptly named "The Race Is On", the youthful, sprightly "Linus and Lucy-The Snoopy Theme", (which will have you humming the tune until bedtime), and the amazing "Bluegrass Breakdown" which makes you wonder if Todd has extra fingers to pick with. Todd Taylor hits one out of the park with 'Blazin Bluegrass Banjo'. Every person who loves music, authentic music with heart, should own this Cd. Marc is the Program Director and Host of the internationally syndicated radio programs 'Independent Country Universe' and 'Blades Of Blue: The Homegrown bluegrass Show'. -30- ===== Independent Country Universe Blades Of Blue For The Record Syndicated radio productions of Green Mountain Music Productions and Boulton Beach Studios

Totally Awesome!!!!!!!! The Title Say's It All, He's The Banjo King, and Cute

Todd Taylor's Blazin Bluegrass Banjo is indeed just that…blazin! Todd and his twin brother Allen enjoyed a long performance history. They were featured on Hee-Haw as the Taylor Twins, and also performed on the Grand Ole Opry in addition to numerous other venues. Several years ago the twins split up, and Todd has continued to perform as a solo act. Todd received his first banjo at age seven from Montgomery Ward. He taught himself by listening to records and polished his skills with input from a few teachers along the way. Wish I'd started when I was seven! The CD begins with "Rawhide," played at breakneck speed, and goes on from there. I particularly enjoyed his rendition of "Nashville Blues," which is fairly straight-ahead but definitely not boring. Very nice! "The Race Is On" explodes with incredible melodic runs and single string work throughout. The CD has many classic banjo tunes on it, including "Wildwood Flower," "Foggy Mountain Breakdown," "Doug's Tune," (wonderful!) in addition to "Home Sweet Home," "Grandfathers Clock," and "Old Joe Clark," among others…all of which will make you wonder how Todd does it. Throughout his performance, he displays his mastery of the banjo and makes it sound incredibly do-able. Now where did I put my fingerpicks? Todd is joined by a stellar cast of musicians, including Steve Thorpe on Dobro and lead guitar and Bo Frazier on fiddle and mandolin. One thing is for sure; they all got a workout making this CD! Amazing! This wonderful CD is $14.95

Todd Taylor's "Blazing Bluegrass Banjo" is one of the hottest bluegrass CD's I've heard in years!!! Someone nominate this CD as "Bluegrass Album of the Year"!!! The precision and passion of the performances are awesome and out of this world!!! Buy a copy of this CD before all the CD's sell out!!!
Unbelievable banjo playing and tone on this recording!
author: Lawrence KingThis is the absolute banjo recording. The hottest pickin ever and the most incredible tone even when I listen to it over my computer. This CD is going to frustrate banjo players for a long time. Both those like me trying to learn some of these licks, and trying to get a banjo to sound like that on a recording. Unreal!
Great classic music
author: Walker CopleyHaving known Todd for almost 30 years, it is great to see him do a few of the great bluegrass standards, in driving Scruggs style, with a real interesting melodic touch in just the right places. This is how it's supposed to be done, and this is a CD you'll enjoy for years to come. His original pieces are wonderful, and his arrangement of "Linus and Lucy" is lots of fun.
