Sparkling, crisp, and clear. The intuitive sense of orchestral arrangement is quickly evident with the first cut. It is vibrant and alive with Spider's Run that tempts you want to pick up your feet and dance. On all of the tracks the backup group is equally exceptional. There are other original tunes such as Bagmati Flood Medley that shows the groups prowess and virtuousity. Lonesome Rambles may give you the chills and reflectiveness of a long lost land. It's a must listen to. Then come alive with Gypsy in the Woodshed and finally pull all of the musical elements together in Old Man on the Mountain: Another original tune. It's all an envigorating and musically adept debut. Buy it and share it for all those who love great music.
Very well produced, not over-produced, delightful!
author: Al BernierTara did a great job selecting accompanists, producing the CD, and selecting tunes. It has the live performance feel of friends sitting around picking and that's hard to get on a recording!
Great mix of original and trad mando tunes!
author: Jeff AreyThis CD is a wonderful menu of tasty mando treats! The recording features a great mix of tunes across many styles; and uses a variety of instruments to complement each songs personality. I recommend it to all acoustic music fans, not just bluegrass.
