notes

Tamarak began on September 21, 1980. The original members of the band were Steve Christenson and Mark Hanus on guitars, Hillard Krechlow on bass and Curt Jones on drums. Like most bands, members came and went quite often.

Throughout the eighties the lineup changed frequently. One of the most well known members was Nick St. Nicholas, formerly of the band Steppenwolf. As the eighties progressed into the nineties Tamarak became more of a rock band.

During the nineties the heart and soul of the band was Donna Ruhland on vocals and Curt Jones on drums. Dan Grise and his guitar joined Tamarak in January of 1997. After a brief hiatus in the beginning of 2000, Curt and Dan revived Tamarak with current members Dave Millett on guitar and Allen Lerold on bass.

Tamarak is now a pure driving no holds barred rock-n-roll band. They have fun every night putting on their show, and so does the crowd. Check out our schedule, and come find out for yourself!

Theve've done something quite diffi-cult, bringing the live preformance to the studio. I'm particularly impressed by Rescue, which stretches their musical muscle. All in all a very tight virgin project, that promises even better things for the future. I only wish I could have snagged them for my label. All the best.

  • This CD is awesome!

The original songs are awesome!!! Amazing, meaningful lyrics and great music... My favorite track is Out of the Blue, because... life is full of surprises. The beat can’t be beat on Comin’ Home. Their is a song for every mood on this CD. Good renditions of other songs that are not covered by every other band in town. Imagine and Bring it on Home are my two favorite. The only thing better is to see Tamarak live!

  • Great CD.

I really enjoyed the CD. I especially enjoyed the out of the blue song, that song makes me believe in fate and how there are no mistakes in this world, things turn out the way they are suppose to...eventually. I think that is what makes the Tamarak originals so great, the messages they send. All vocals sounded wonderful, I have your CD in my car and listen to it often, it always makes me smile.

  • You should listen!
