notes
Tabernacle of Praise is exciting,soul-searching music.
Although the music has a strong Hip-Hop element it is not limited or confined to one particular style of music.
Tabernacle of Praise was formed by God in mid' 96
Tabernacle of Praise is not the name of a group but a depiction of one's existance in Christ.
Ultimately,we are all tabernacles of praise when our soul has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
The phrase "Tabernacle of Praise" means -"portable vessel of praise to the most high God ".
Back in the Old Testament, the tabernacle was a mobile sanctuary tent) used by the Isrealites to worship God where-ever they went.
Every room and object in the tabernacle was placed there under the guidance and instruction of God.That is the approach that marshall takes with his life and with his music.
Tabernacle of Praise has ministered through song at several concerts, Gospel plays, church services, and has been a guest on "Christside Radio" on 96.3 FM with host Deezer"D".
The sole purpose of this ministry is to reach and empower by the Gospel of Jesus Christ those who normally would not go to church, and also those who need some encouragement inside the church building.
Most of the music was produced, written, and performed by T O P in his modest bedroom studio called the "War room" a.k.a. the Tabernacle.
It was recorded on Tascam 4-track and 8-track recorder One of the tracks was produced by beating on a guitar to make a drumbeat then looping it on an Akai SO1 sampler, overlaying the beat with guitar riffs and shaking a bottle of uncooked elbow macaroni(track4 Let Go!) No type of sequencing equipment was used to produce this album full of samples, soundbytes, and live instuments but you will be surprised by the sound and various moods that are set in this peace of artwork.
Prayer and imagination were put in to play while putting this together.
Through patience and faith in God, T O P was shown how to use whatever he has to give glory to God in any type of situation.
The vision of Tabernacle of Praise is musically to advance the kingdom of God with creative sounds which touch the imagination, as well as the heart of the listener.
As children of God, we are always seeking to go from glory to glory in what God has ordained for us to do.
God has called us to be world shakers, religion breakers, and freedom makers.
The music and gifts from this ministry costantly seek to evolve and revolutionize the music making process as well as the great commission documented in Mark 16:5 "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature".

marshal blue!!
author: flipdI first heard Marshall Blue from Secta 7: the invasion. His song From the Bottom up definitly stood out. His style is smooth and unique with a likeness to Nate Dog but with tight lyrics. Might need a nece brace for all the head bobbin.
Just another "Christian" rap album?
author: Chris Schlarb (of Create (!))There is a lot of "Christian" or spiritual rap and hip-hop out there. A lot. And with "Sing A New Song" by Tabernacle Of Praise, a new name and song (or collection of) has been added to the already vast wasteland of "Christians" attempting to take a popular style of music and mold it to fit their theology (Muslims and Jews do it too, see: Soldiers of Allah and Blood Of Abraham). With most "religious" rap what you get is often weak lyrical message (too busy trying to tell you what you should believe) and noramally awful music (as if the lyrical content would be enough to justify its existance). But hear is the difference. Mr. Marshall Blue and company are not concerned with the clique societies that pop up even in the Christian community. That they are having fun making music and worshipping the Lord whether you are or not makes this album one that begins to break down the sheen of ministry by force and connects in a more personal (and thereby more effective) way. Whether being half sung or rapped the lyrics are delivered with a casual, carefree, unpretentious drawl, perhaps reminisent of Cee-Lo of Goodie Mob. While the music really shines on tracks like, "Whistlin' In The Wind" on which the live drums and keyboard interact in a way that only live instruments can. Another standout include is "Let's Go!" where the vocal bassline may remind some of the earlier (and best) work of live hip-hop group The Roots. Macaroni never sounded so good on a hip-hop track.
Your music library is incomplete until this CD is in it!!!
author: A. E. P.Any true lover of music will be able to appreciate this CD. The artist is a true lyricist who produces some of the tightest beats I have ever heard! He attempts (and pulls off nicely) bold, new feats that you just can't find in today's watered-down music industry. And as if it wasn't enough that the beats are bangin and the artist is tight, he is rappin about GOD!!! After you hear this album, I defy you not to believe and be encouraged. Don't question for a minute if you need to order this album; it will change your life. God bless you.
Very Positive and Uplifting !!
author: OdeeThis C.D. contains quality music with great style, phat beats, and most of all divine lyrical contents. While others claim to be original, this man certainly does have his own style. Also, I just really love the lyrics and the way he presents them. Usually, when Gospel Hip-Hop artists lack in the area of music (the beat), they have good lyrics or just the opposite ... tight beats, wack lyrics. Well, not this guy! I had a hard time recommending a favorite because each song contains their own treasure but I can truly say that I look forward to future releases.TABERNACLE OF PRAISE IS A MUST-HAVE !!!! God Bless You !
A must have for lovers of true music given raw and with God-passion.
author: Tommy TThis cd is defineatly worth more than the asking price. The cd is creative and yet does not compromise the gospel. It's a head-bobber that feeds the spirit with top notch beats supported by first rate lyrics. A must have for any arsenal regardless of personal preference.
Fresh and Bold
author: Nick (drummer Of The Hollow)Tabernalce of Praise is fresh and bold. It's experimental Hip-Hop and it's different than most of what I've heard before. The lyrics are cutting. They challenge the listener to live in power and stop playing 'church.' You can't help but examine your life after listening to these tracks. I wish all the Christian artists out thee would be as bold and blunt with their listeners about the claims of the gospel.
