Christmas 1977 - the year that "Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas" was first broadcast on HBO. In true Muppet style, it appealed to people of all ages in my family and continues to be part of our holiday tradition...
Those who know the story love it, and those who don’t know it - should! The distinct washboard rhythm of "BarBQ" is usually all those "in the know" need to hear for the spark of recognition to appear in the form of a smile on their face.
This recording celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Jim Henson’s adaptation. Since an "official" soundtrack was never released, this is the first time that most of these songs have been made available on CD.
I am happy to share this labor of love with you and your family. I urge you to seek out the original Jim Henson production or the Russell and Lillian Hoban book (if you can find it).
