Career of "Super Slip"aka "Slip Roc" aka "Slip Matola" aka "tha A-1 Yola"
92- Featured in L.A. Documentary "Straight from the Streets" by Keith O'Derek (upfrontproductions.com).
93- Super Slip f/k/a "Slip Roc" rocks his first performance in the L.A. county jail with "J.D." formerly of the Lynch Mob. "J.D." was impressed enough to connect "W.C." of the West Connection which landed Slip and his group the Wolf Pak an opening spot for Ice Cube" in Oahu, Hawaii.
94- Slip was noticed by "EAZY-E" after defeating "Xhibit" and "Capadonna" of the Wu-tang Clan on the Sway and Tech Hip Hop Battles on 92.3 the Beat in LA.
Slip made several appearances on Eazy's Ruthless radio show as his guest and soon after he passed away before Slip and "Eazy" were able to start their project. This was the year Slip also began to produce and educate himself about the music business.
97- Mother passed away. Slip and family relocated to Atlanta
98- Slip was introduced to a new sound called "Crunk" and fused it with his West Coast flows. "The Young Bloodz" recognized Slip's talent and were the 1st to put him on for his first stage performance in the south and also gave him an honorable "shout out" (in the credits) on their first album "Against the Grain".
99- Birth of "How Bout It" with good friend "B-Dub".
00-"Chris Luva Luva" aka "Ludacris", then radio personality for Hot 97.5 débuted the single "How Bout It" and the How Bout It movement in Atlanta began.
Slip teams up with "Sen Dog" of the group Cypress Hill, to record a track for the "Training Day" soundtrack. The song actually ended up on the sound track for the movie "Fast and Furious".
01-Slip made history as the guest to receive the most e-mails, on the "Jenny Jones Show", after performing for her live on an episode featuring documentary films. (Straight from the Streets)
Slip aka "Slip Matola" took Montreal, Canada by storm when he introduced the Canadians to the How Bout It movement while filming his video for "How Bout It" during Carabana and secured his name in the Canadian Hip Hop history books when he consecutively defeated 29 of Canada's best M.C.'s at the annual Hip Hop free style battle in Toronto.
02-"Matola" returned to L.A. and started a Hip Hop project (Tha A-1 yola) with producer "Mark Twain" which featured platinum producer "Jazze Pha" and other successful rappers.
03-Slip revives a 4 year old song "Super Nigga", that ends up on a lil John mix-tape called "Crunk Juice". The song was so HOT that it was place as the third track after Lil' Scrappy and Trillville which created a BIG "buzz" for Super Slip in the Atlanta music scene.
04-While in Los Angeles, California with platinum producers "Rhythm D" (Ruthless Records), and the "Chill" (Compton's Most Wanted) Slip was personally contacted by "Bone Crusher" who very adamantly expressed he wanted to re-record "Super Nigga", for his second album. Super Slip agreed that the song he wrote would fit perfectly with Bones style. While Bone was in Miami at the Source Awards, Supa Ni**a was played at a club and caught the ear of Shaquille O'Neal. Which led to "Super Shaq" recording lyrics on the super hit, which is due to drop in late 2005.
05- Super Slip incorporates Angelic, LLC. Slip and childhood friend DJ Rip of Hot 107.7 of Omaha, NE team up to take the industry by storm by releasing the hottest project's on the streets!
