notes

Sunny's second CD, My World, is a further progression of her ability to combine electronic music with a mixture of live musicians.

Together a spiritual aggression has been awakened!

The songs on this CD move from very lite and dreamy to hard and aggressive!

Just when you get used to the texture, everything changes and sends you to a whole new side of My World, leaving you with all live musicians expessing a jazzy organic feel.

The song "My World" was inspired by a form of Buddhist belief called Chi Gong.

It is about the experience of when one's life felt empty and almost too much a spiritual power sent strength to help clear the path and help one see the beauty sometimes we forget to see!

What can you say about this girl?? Except how amazingly talented she is! Her music moves your body, mind, and soul. To fully understand her innovative style, you must truly let go of your normalcy and become a product of her environment as opposed to the environment around you. Sunny is a badass period! I got much respect for her and her endeavors. Orlando's been good to us, but the world will be even better! Hope to see you on the other side! -Anduze

The long awaided follow-up to "Overflow" is finally here! and it was worth the wait. I'm a long time fan of the live show so its a real treat for me, but it really is so much more than that..you have to hear it all.... It starts off as an Electronic album.. The CD begins with "The Arrival".. Its an entrance to yet another dimension..its Sunny's "My World"..very dark and mysterious... The track "Drink Me" starts both parts of the CD..very well thought out.. You'll see why soon.. This is an electronic remix of the classic live version heard later on. It also has a very dark nature to it and features very soft beats underneith her vocals. Track 3 "The Night" is a brand new song. It has never been heard anywhere else before. Her lyrics are very softly spoken behind some very intence guitar parts and electronic beats. From "The Night" bringsforth the title track "My World".. This is one of the all time best Sunny songs to date. This version is a lot more heavily layered than the one I heard live a while back..It starts out slow and peaceful with a light guitar sound and strings echoing this melody It gradually builds to a very intence sound climax then ends with that melody returning. "My World is a better place...cause you are here." she sings. Track 5 "Push Me" is a very funky song! That's the best way to describe it! Welcome to Sunny's disco funk! Thus once again proving how diverse this album is. You'll love it! Very cool. Track 6 "Bring Your Lovin' Back" is another great track..its similar to the song "Love Me" from the 1st album but it has a lot more vocals and they are very emotionally powerful! "You Know Me Well" is another new song. It has a very "Rabbit in the Moon" sound to it. Very electronic and very fast. The really great vocals that come later in this song are very well done. Track 8 "Letting The Machine Go" is another transition...she's turning the machines off and moving from an Electronic sound to a Jazz/Rock sound. This new transition takes us to Sunny's live show! Now Featuring the artists from the band Umoja/Brown note heard in Orlando! So this is where the 2 in 1 CD comes in... The next 4 tracks are how Sunny's live show sounds... Now "Drink Me" in its Original version is a classic example of how one song can be done in a very differnt way. This is how Drink Me sounds when you see Sunny! You'll be singing "Bada! Ba! da! da!" a hook! Track 10 "My Lover" (you remember the electronic version is on her 1st CD Overflow..) is now done in a whole new light also. The guitar parts and bass match the live show perfectly. "Yeaheah..unhunh!" Next is "Spinnin' Around" which is very catchy. Singin "YEAH!" I love those hooks! A simple hook surrounded by her meaningful lyrics makes these songs great...and Again this one is very close to the live version..the guitar solos and the lyrics..Its all about her exboyfriend right?. So "I will not be the one that is waiting for you...." *stamp one foot!* and Yell "YEAH!"..Its really powerful! Then comes "When the Lights Go Down"..my favorite from Overflow is also captured with the live sound! What more could you ask for? Its still very dark and very gothic! A classic in my heart forever! So if you haven't heard these 4 tracks live then that's what you've missed! These songs are a real treat for the long time fans who love the live show! So Go see Sunny live for the full experience! Of course her live show is always changing so its not always what you expect to hear..but when she's with the Browns these are the great ones! Now before the CD ends it has its final track "Departing" which is a hug and a kiss from "My World"..."You are here now...." Sunny's world truely is..a better place!

Overall, nice effort and production. Nice approach to ELECTRONIC music, even though I think it leans a little more towards pop. If you like Tori Amos or any thing in that respect, you like this cd! - CrackHead http://www.angelfire.com/nj/rootband
