Marilyn Y. Sumulong’s versatile career includes performances on the harp, piano and marimba. She has performed in the United States and abroad, appearing as soloist,chamber musician and principal harpist of several orchestras. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Performance and studied the harp under Maryjane Barton and at the Vienna Academy of Music under Christine Unders.
A concert performer since the age of seven, Marilyn has been honored to perform for heads of state and other foreign dignitaries. She was invited to play for Helen Keller and other notable personalities.

She was featured marimba soloist of the National Philharmonic Orchestra and distinguished herself as harp soloist and principal harpist of the Manila Symphony, Cultural Center of the Philippines Philharmonic and Metro Manila Symphony Orchestra. She performed with the Diablo Symphony Orchestra in California and various ensemble groups.

Marilyn appeared in many television shows and was studio harpist for numerous recordings and commercials. She performed in productions such as the King and I, My Fair Lady, The Fantasticks and many more. She also enjoyed performing with Neil Sedaka, Fifth Dimension and other artists and was the featured Front Act for Michael Feinstein.

Marilyn had extensive engagements as the featured entertainer at many fine hotels in the San Francisco Bay Area including the Sheraton Palace Hotel, Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, and the Fairmont Hotel. Other clients and events were Gordon Getty, Democratic Convention, the San Francisco Black and White Ball.

Marilyn served in the faculty of several colleges where she taught music courses as well as harp, piano and marimba. She is now based in the Las Vegas area where she maintains a private teaching studio and performs for public and private engagements.
