notes

The Sue Quigley Band is based in Seattle,WA and has been gigging around there for over 2 years now. Sue had done the open mic thing off and on for years and finally decided to get busy after meeting neighbor John Mills over the fence between their houses. Sue asked John to play bass and they were off like a prom dress.... They were joined recently by Gary Sorenson on lead guitar.

The band's EP has been featured on 103.7 "The Mountain"'s Sunday Brunch show, as well as Q-13's Morning Show on Fox TV. Two songs's are featured in indie filmmaker Tony Hebert's "The End Of August". Sue has begun a monthly songwriter series at the Paragon Bar on Queen Anne in Seattle featuring local unsigned talent. Plans for a full-length cd are in the works for the next year and Sue is traveling to NYC this summer to play at the famous Bitter End for a female singer-songwriter showcase.

  • Skill and synergy !
author: Laura T Lynch of Kweevak.com

Sue Quigley is the lead vocalist, songwriter and one of two guitar players in the band. A drummer and bassist provide the up-tempo rhythms on this self-titled, six-track EP. Their music is a combination of rock and pop acoustic. Sue sings her savvy, honest lyrics with poise and passion. The music is soulful and the band, John Mills, John Martiniello and Gary Sorensen are tight. The group is currently touring locally and two of their songs have been used by indie-filmmaker Tony Herbert. The production on this CD is crisp and clear allowing the musicians to shine. Each song has something special to offer but of particular note was 'Naked Heart' and 'Waiting'. Strong drumming and subtle bass lines create the undertow of 'Naked Heart' as the guitars flow with Sue's strong vocal currents. The song goes through a number of pace changes and fine instrumental breaks. 'Waiting' has an edgy, sultry tone combined with striking beats and soaring guitars. The Sue Quigley Band demonstrates that they have skill and synergy on their debut release!
