Wonderful Dutch bluegrass-folk group performing own songs in a local dialect

notes

This unique Dutch group from Northern Holland plays original folk music sung in their local dialect of their home province Groningen, and played on bluegrass instruments plus accordion. “There are some especially enjoyable passages where the mandolin and accordion play instrumental breaks in unison, a surprising good marriage of sounds.
But the band stays melodically and thematically close to bluegrass. An example is “Zoltkamp,”a true song about a fishing village which suddenly found itself away from the coast after a dike was build to reclaim the land. It’s good to hear foreign the bluegrass idiom to celebrate not the Blue Ridge Mountains (which they’ve probably never seen)but the places and people dear to their hearts… a must have item for collectors of foreign Bluegrass.
