notes
Straight Avenue Band's debut CD, "Journals-The Wilderness Sessions", originated from journal writings. They were essentially prayers and lessons learned from reading God's Word and living life in the flesh. The band turned these journal writings into songs with life application, influenced by sounds of rock bands from the 60's and 70's.
Straight Avenue Band is based out of Wichita, KS. The band's songwriters are husband and wife, Charles and Sharon Urban and Cheryl Knocke. Cheryl, the band's lead singer, also plays acoustic guitar. Charles plays a variety of electric guitars and guitar amps. Sharon sings vocals, plays B3 organ and various other instruments. Randy Neill sings vocals, plays bass guitar, and Todd Truitt plays the drums. The band's producer is Lee Lundgren.
