notes
Benoît St- Jacques is a musician from Québec City now living in the U.S. In the 80's, he played the coffee house circuit in the south east with a duo, and played in a variety of rock bands, all along concentrating in creating original music. In the early 90's, he toured as the lead guitarist with the reggae band Judgenot opening for such acts as Inner circle, Culture, Yellow man , Julian Marley, Burning Spear and Ital.
For the last few years, he came back to his first love, the acoustic guitar. On his CD Seule saison que je tiens... he explores many styles of music using the acoustic guitar as the main instrument. This CD project came as a way to honor his father's poetry. Seven of the titles on seule saison que je tiens... include lyrics by André St-Jacques, Benoît's father.

A tunefully exodic CD
author: Michael Miller State newspaper"Seule saison que je tiens"which means "The only season i hold" is a melodic and flowing album. The delicate folk songs and spicy jazz tunes are all filled with St-Jacques' spellbinding acoustic guitar solos and intriguing chord progressions.Accordion, harmonica and slide guitar add occasional textures, blending perfectly into the record's overall effect of exotic mystery.
