Steve Saluto plays blues-style rock'n'roll with a huge dose of soul. The songs contained on this EP are fine examples of Saluto's amazing talents and breadth of style.
"She-Cat" starts the CD with a nearly Red Hot Chili Peppers vibe that's impossible to resist. "I'll Be There" is a bluesy, soul-revealing number with a real emotional wallop. The CD closes out with a bizarre version of Deep Purple's classic "Strange Kind of Woman" with a toned-down rhythm and re-worked melody that almost ... almost ...renders it unrecognizable. A very interesting spin.
Throughout, Saluto's guitar playing is impressive. He's one of those guitarists who talks ... or sings ... with his instrument and that playing is the highlight of this CD
-------------
It's got great grooves, fantastic guitar work, and a splendid spirit. "She-Cat" has got a funky groove with some cool guitar licks. The vocal delivery sounds like a cross between Sting and Anthony Keidis. It's a fine song. "I'll be there" has some soulful backing vocals. The song is a smooth groove with some wonderfully clean guitar playing. "A Different Fire" has an acoustic sweetness and almost sounds like something Eric Clapton might do. Weel done mr. steve saluto!!
