REVIEWS:
Steven Cravis has complete command of those wonderful ivory keys that create such beautiful sounds. This music really put me in the right place. Solitude, spiritual strength and a oneness with the creator is encouraged through the music Cravis presents on this CD.
The uniqueness of the instrument is it's ability to reach an absolutely phenomenal level of clarity and tone without any accompanying instruments to augment the sound. The common thread of all piano players, including Cravis, is a sparkling independence conveyed through the artistry of a solo pianist in his element. The self proclaimed Amazing Piano Magician lives up to the billing with each tune emanating The Sound of Light. This is a project that is in complete synchronicity with itself. It's evident in the music, corresponding song titles and the title of the recording that the idea or concept of this album is to project the completeness or vision derived from the circle of life. The references to the triangle of elements; fire, water and sky seemed to point in this direction from my viewpoint. The respect for life itself expressed through the perfectly blissful musical soundtrack that Steven Cravis has created is his gift to mankind. Seek out the beauty of life through the music. It is often said that music has the power to heal.
Pianist/Composer Steven Cravis takes this adage to heart. Steven, whose two CD releases, TRUE REFLECTIONS and THE SOUND OF LIGHT, are currently available on the Steven Cravis.com label, has more than a passing interest in the power of healing.Steven's music, performed on acoustic grand piano, is a unique blend of styles, combining the meditative quality of new age, the improvisatory freedom of jazz, and the compositional elegance of the Classics. At its core, Steven's music is inspired by the composer's personal spiritual awareness. There are many twists and turns along any artist's path to success. The journey undertaken by Steven Cravis(also widely known as the Amazing Piano Magician) is no exception. After attending the prestigious Berkley College of Music in 1990, Steven moved into an artists community in nearby Cambridge, Massachusetts. While crafting the meditative piano pieces that later became the foundation of his first CD TRUE REFLECTIONS, Steven supported himself by teaching the healing art of yoga. Steven recalls:"For many musicians, a day job is just a job, a way to pay the bills. For me, it was different. The spiritual nature of my occupation was a source of inspiration for me. With my music, my goal is to transport my audience to that blissful, relaxed state that I have come to know through the art of yoga and meditation."In 1992, TRUE REFLECTIONS was released. Steven received the audience reaction that he had hoped for. "I think the music struck a chord, helped people to gain a peaceful break from the monotony in their lives.
Things really started to go well for me when radio stations WGBH and WMJX began playing my music."To promote his new release, Steven played several well received concerts, including a benefit performance for The Muscular Dystrophy Association at Boston's historic Faneuil Hall. Steven found the healing effect of his music to be equally effective in a live setting.Given the cinematic quality of his music, it is not surprising that Steven is frequently asked to do film work. In the summer of 1994, Steven contributed the poignant ballad, "Is It True", to the Indian feature film, BOLLYWOOD, from Soni-Khan Productions. The film was singled out for recognition on the film festival circuit in both New York and Los Angeles. In the winter of 1995, Steven released his latest work, THE SOUND OF LIGHT. The intriguing title reflects Steven's continuing interest in spiritual exploration. "In certain cultures, it is said that by chanting specific sounds, one gains access to the dreamworld as sound is translated into light."Musically speaking, THE SOUND OF LIGHT is another success, a further refinement of Steven's unique style. Since its release, Steven has continued to perform, attempting to bring the healing power of his music to others around the world willing to share his journey.By K.

Steven Cravis' second album [The Sound of Light] is an excellent collection of thoughtful and peaceful piano solos. Many of the pieces are more classically structured than the music of other artists in the genre, andindicate a very well-trained and creative pianist-composer (he attended the prestigious Berklee School of Music). The music is peaceful, but is complex enough to allow the listener to hear something new after repeated hearings. The quiet tone of the CD makes it suitable for a lovely backdrop, but many of the songs deserve to be given ones full attention to hear and appreciate the beauty of this music. -By Kathy Parsons, http://www.mainlypiano.com
Artists such as Yanni, George Winston, and Jim Brickman have been influential to Steven on this solo piano sounds CD performed on a Steinway.

When You Believe in Yourself
author: Elyse O'ConnorWhen I hear Steven Cravis' music, I think this: When you believe in yourself, you send that into the universe and contribute to humanity believing in itself, and so much hope is realized. In Steve's music, I hear hope and love and all the good dreams we keep alive--"Through the Kaleidoscope" among so many others, plays it so well. Blessings to Steven for a continued and even greater still opening to more of who you are, to the dream that started with a belief in your sound, reverberating in the world. Thank you. Elyse O'Connor
Perfect!
author: LeaI love Steven Cravis & his wonderful piano pieces. I listen to it everyday!
love this cd
author: jgreat solo piano music--one of the best I've heard. Love also Cd Baby's customer service.
gorgeous
author: ceceI am mesmerized by Steven Cravis's music. I first heard "Dancing Spirits" a while ago, and I can honestly say that I have fallen in love. I can listen to any of Mr. Cravis's songs hour after hour and still experience the same sensation of falling into the melody throughout it all. I am a young (and horrible) pianist myself, but my dearest ambition is to be able to play "Dancing Spirits" although I know it would never sound as gorgeous. I am hoping to soon be able to purchase "The Sound of Light" and its sheet music. I am extremely excited.
Stunning. That music is stunning
author: JadisI love this music and musician. I first heard the music on BubbleBees on Orisnal.com and I just had to buy the CD. Stunning.
FANTASTIC
author: IsabelThis CD is fantastic, very fresh and delightful. Tks.
Bubble Bees Rules!!!!
author: SarahI play the game to relax and now I play Steven's music in the background of my classroom. It makes inflicting Math on a bunch of teenegers a lttle less painful for us all.
Gorgeous
author: SebastianAmazing!!! The soundtrack is beyond description, it's a must buy cd as you won't regret for sure.....

author: gracieux desseit's Through the Kaleidoscope. most beautiful & enchanting piano composition. i listen to it everyday & never get bored
...from angels, and for angels...
author: KateAt first time I heard it on the bubble bees game from orisinal. I like this music very much, but I can only listen to the samples on this site. I regret that I can't buy "The Sound of Light" because I live in another country (I'm from Poland). I will tell my friends about this music and orisinal :)
Amazing
author: Juliana EatonA while ago, one of my good friends Instant Messaged me and told me to listen to something. I complied, and was utterly amazed. What my friend had sent me was a piano piece; but it was far more than that. It was different and just made me feel good. That piece was Steven Cravis's Through the Kaleidoscope. After hearing it, I determined I wanted to hear more of Steven Cravis's work, and that's when I purchased The Sound Of Light. I found out then that the music on this CD is deeply touching and wonderfully written and performed. I especially recommend listening to Through the Kaleidoscope, Reunion, and My Precious One. This CD is the best of Steven Cravis's work, at least in my opinion. No collection is complete without it; a must-have for people of all ages!
Beautifully inspiring music
author: Uzumaki KanimaruSteven Cravis' musical talent and songwriting ability surpasses that of even the great musician nobuo uematsu (acclaimed for writing final fantasy series music) when i listen to his music, i am lost in a world where wars, or pain, or killing do not exist. His music is timeless and i do not doubt that it will stay until mankind cannot hear. Even then, the animals and angels will still be listening.
Beautiful, melodic, moving solo piano music.
author: AnthonySteven Cravis' first CD is a great collection of truly unique, melodic, and emotionally moving songs. Each one of these tracks has a distinctive and beautiful melody suitable for whistling (which I do often.) "Through the Kaliedescope" is an outstanding track, but each and every song on this CD is a "hit", and I'm very picky! This isn't background music really. It's meant to be listened to purposefully, like a soundtrack to your thoughts. Well done Steven!
I LOVE IT
author: SheenaAbsolutely wonderful. His vision of the world portrayed through sound is amazing.
Just what I've been looking for!
author: AnneThis CD is fantastic. Steven captures in his music the exact type of tranquility and musical aroma that I've been looking for all my life. Uplifting and flowing, it grabs you and lets you sink into the music. However, the only negative point I've found with this particular CD (Steven's other albums are wonderful though) is that if you listen to it all at once it starts to sound monotonous after the third or fourth track. This may be because Steven almost always involves rondo descants in his accompanying hand (whichever hand that may be). Overall though, it's worth buying.
great "mood" music
author: Bonnie JansenThis music is great to listen to when you want to relax and not really think about anything. The different songs have many moods to me. For instance, some sound sad, and make you reflect on things that you are thinking about. It's just a really neat experience, and I like it.
This is the best!!!
author: HediehThis CD is AWESOME! It's so calming and relaxing and I would recommend it anyone who hasn't had the chance to listen to it! Go on....get it and get relaxed!
This is a lovely song.
author: TreenI think that this is the most inspirational song i've ever heard. I was playing Bubble Bees and I loved the music. So I followed the link and I am buying this soundtrack. Steven Cravis is my favorite artist.
A calming spiritual and playfully enchanting journey
author: Donna GallmeierAt times playful, calming, enchanting, spiritual. My thoughts took me on a different journey with each song. Through The Kaleidoscope played with my inner child.

Beautiful
author: AmiI love the cd is very beautiful
- author: Laura Sullivan, Recording Artist
Steven Cravis’s “Sound of Light” is a sonic delight in which he interprets beautiful colors and shades of light as music in sparkling brilliance for the pleasure of our ears and the exuberance of our spirit. Splashes of “color” resonate on the first track of the album “Through the Kaleidoscope” setting the scene for the broad spectrum of shades and shadows on the rest of this collection of pieces. Each one evokes a distinct mood, some grey and moody like the third track “Dancing Spirits” and some soft as romantic candlelight such as my favorite track on the album, “The Shining Star”. “Radiant Love” shines with the warmth of a heart filled with true devotion and opens into an interesting bridge that sounds almost classical. “Snowfall Sunrise” shines with the hope of a fresh new day washed in the crystal pure reflections of white snow. I highly recommend this album.
Inspired! Beautiful to chill out to.

The piano CD to listen to!
author: Michael Ashley - SongwriterThis CD is just extremely soothing and relaxing. Indeed Steven Cravis's music heals. Such a good pianist is hard to come by. I especially like "Through The Kaleidoscope". Such beauty and grace cannot be expressed and captivated elsewhere apart from that song. It is just a wonderful creation. Thank you Steven Cravis for sharing your talents with the world!

The Perfect Song!
author: CaperQTI'm addicted to the game "Bubblebees" from orisinal.com, and realized while playing it that Through the Kaleidoscope, by Cravis, is the song that I want to walk down the aisle to on my wedding day next summer. It speaks volumes of the anticipation my fiance and I will be feeling as we look down the aisle at one another; and of the happiness and feelings of content we will be feeling on our special day.
Absolutley perfect
author: ButterflyAbsolutely healing and so spiritual. This music completely calms me even after my worst day ever. Thank you Cravis for sharing your gift with those who seek relaxation.

the music captures my soul and sets it free
author: becca s.I first heard the music at orisinal.com, and I would open the game just to listen to the music. I noticed the link to this website and, after listening to the samples, bought the CD. The music really captures my soul, it purifies it then releases it. I love this beautiful, simple music!
nice music a little new-agey though
author: Ergednabastiothonanai heard the first song on the bubble bee game from orisinal.com...orisinal.com is such a cool website! you should visit it omg it is so awsome i mean the games are really simple but fun and challanging and the more you play them the better you get at them and i am working on getting high scores in all the games but so far i've only gotten high scores in bungee bears...thats probably my favorite game i guess since im so good at it but i also love other games like bubble bees, floats, wake up calls, bottom of the sea, etc. and many many more ANd also the music is so good like all of it i could fall in love with man i really love orisinal.com ITS THE BEST WEBSITE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Music to explore the inner self by.
author: Jimmy CaterineThis CD is a valley of discovery. I found myself thinking about people and places I haven't seen for some time. After several listens it is still hard to try and analyze the music. I can only say that it took me away. A lot of thoughts and feelings were stirred up in me. This is, in my opinion, what good music should do. No analysis is needed for a disc that can make you feel so deeply. It has expressed well. I highly recommend Steven Cravis 'The Sound of Light' to anyone wishing to make contact with their inner being.
Nothing else like this
author: Victoriathe music this musician has to offer is just the stuff that the world needs now! There is nothing else on this earth like this music, and it is just the ticket to calm people down! I love it, don't stop writing it now!!
Absolutely enlightening
author: AndyI heard one of the music in the "Bubble Bee" game at orisinal.com, it simply cheers me up, wonderful music I'd say.
Blood Pressure-Lowering Music
author: Ray S.Put this CD on and just relax. Your blood pressure will miraculously come down. Mr. Cravis has the knack for the hook, i.e., melodies that will leave you whistling them to yourself hours after the CD has played. It's one of those CDs that can be left on repeat or random on your CD player, especially in the car. Wonderful music!
Yummy...
author: AliceI have been looking for this music for so long. I've been dreaming about the first track and wanting to hear it completely for about a year (since I heard it on another web site). Now I've heard it all I think all the tracks are inspirational. I have been playing the music during detentions with wayward 14 year olds and they've all left happy and smiling. If I could, I would listen to this music all day - I love it, it's so beautiful and simple and pure and and ... keep writing please!
i love this!
author: beccai want to get the cd and piano music of this. its so relaxing and enjoyable. Its like a new set of classic songs. I first heard it on the bee game at orsinal/ferryhalim.com on the bee game and fell in love with it over and over again.
Beautiful music
author: cherub521I have been looking for a long time for some relaxing piano music to listen to while I do homework. I finally found Steven Cravis' "The Sound of light" and it is quite relaxing. I first heard his music on Orsinal.com on the bee game.
Great music. The most relaxing and uplifting piano I've ever heard.
author: Dez LeeThis CD has a great compilation of relaxing and romantic music I've ever heard. It's a fresh sound, much more emotional and uplifting than the classics, and in some ways, even better than the mainstream like Yani and Kitaro. Highly recommended if you want some great spring/summer night driving, or those days where you just want to sit and gaze at the outdoors. Through the Kaleidoscope is one of the most uplifting songs I've ever heard. I never get tired of it and it reminds me of the innocence of young life. Do yourself a favour and buy this CD, and also consider Steven Cravis's other CD True Reflections. I have them both and play to them a lot.

Cravis' music is medicine for the soul
author: John DunnHis music gives proof that people don’t want control over the music but rather, people want to trust the music to enter their hearts and take control of their emotions- and Steven’s music assures you of that trust with confidence and grace. You must hear it to believe it! John Dunn A&R
