notes
Steven Brust is a New York Times best-selling author well known for his Vlad Taltos series. He is a versatile writer, both of books and of songs. His other books include a series written in the style of Dumas, an epistolary novel, and a sparely written vampire book that never mentions the word "vampire."
Some of Steve's own songs range from "Latex Man" to "Neil Gaiman Pastiche #27." "I Was Born About Ten Million Songs Ago" was selected for Doctor Demento's "Best of the Year" compilation in 1993. Various songs have been published on Steve's weblog and not recorded. He has also written songs for world beat band Boiled in Lead.
At science fiction conventions, Steve tends to jam, have musical room parties, and do concerts. Even people who avoid "filk" tend to enjoy Steve's musical interludes.
The CD contains outstanding backup performances by artists including Gary Schulte, Todd Menton, "Dakota" Dave Hull, Adam Stemple, and Lojo Russo.
He also drummed for a lovely troupe of belly dancers at the Minnesota Renaissance Faire for about fifteen years.
