notes
Kavanah is a contemplative collection of musically & spiritually uplifting songs.
Guitarist/song writer Steve Klaper and daughter, Caitlin, record and perform original Jewish music that combines spiritually uplifting stories with high energy pop, jazz, folk, blues, reggae and Latin rhythms. Caitlin (just 16 years old when this recording was made) and her father have played together since she could talk, and the overwhelming response to her rich vocals and musical interpretation has led to her prominence in live performances and studio work.
This unique, father-daughter duo has released three CDs of contemporary Jewish music: Azamra! (2001); Kavanah (2002); Azamra! LIVE (2003). Their 4th and most recent CD, I Have a Little Shadow (2005) is a collection of children's music, featuring Steve's original melodies and the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson.
"...Caitlin's smooth, clear voice displays a vocal maturity well beyond her years...The disc provides listening pleasure and is a great resource for songleaders looking for new songs."
Judy Caplan Ginsburgh,

"...really lovely. I particularly enjoyed the creative melodies and playful use of lyrics. ...the feel and production were great!"
