Steve Carlson's highly anticipated, new album - "Groovin On the Inside" has been released. The album promises to awe and inspire listeners, combining elements of rock, funk, soul, R&B and as expected- poignant and gripping ballads, with which Carlson's fans have come to love and expect.

"Groovin' on the Inside" is Carlson's first, full-length collaboration with Music Producer and friend, Darren Sher. Upon completion of recording the album, Jeff Juliano (John Mayer, Dave Matthews, O.A.R., etc.) was brought in to mix the project. It was then that all the ingredients fell into place, ensuring an exciting and passionate album that will undoubtedly become an instant classic.

Carlson's signature, raspy, soulful voice, together with his intuitive lyrics and melodies, combine on this album, creating a comfortable transition from song to song. From the funky, "get up and dance" numbers, "If it Ain't Easy", "Wonder of My World", and the remake of the classic Zombie's hit, "She's Not There" - to the ballads, "Pinata Novia", "I'll Remember You", and "Now That My Love Is Gone" - Carlson demonstrates once again his passion for music, song-writing and life. Carlson further pleases listeners with his powerful "Hole In Me", the R & B inspired "The One I Want", the whimsical and romantics "Wasted Jaime" and "You Belong To Me", culminating with the unexpected finale in "She Loves", which takes the listener completely by surprise with it's opera infused, psychedelic crescendo reminiscent of a 60’s classic.

"Groovin' On The Inside" could not be a more appropriate title for this inspired album. The transition between these different styles flow effortlessly and create a joyful, yet aching experience for the listener. After listening to this album from beginning to end, one truly feels like they are "Groovin' On The Inside".

    This album is fantastic on so many levels. From the first song to the last it keeps you engaged and waiting in giddy expectation of what's coming next. It makes for a fantastic album in the car and for a night in with your friends. Steve's rich voice easily weaves it's way through the insightfully written songs and it leaves you with a smile on your face. The songs each have that moment that makes you close you eyes and smile and really appreciate excellent music. The lyrics sneak up on you as well. The first listen I was sort of just blown away by the arrangements and Steve's voice. Every listen since I catch a new image or witty line and cant help nodding in appreciation for someone who has created such well rounded music. Everyone I play the album for loves it and asks how to get it.

    I bought both GOTI and SITC, along with RO - and after listening to them over and over again, it's obvious that they already are part of my all time favs collection. There's not a single song I don't like, or like less than the others and that's a rare thing to happen. Especially GOTI grew on me, once it's in my cd player, I can't seem to get myself to change it for another album in days. :P Thank you for your music, Steve!

    This album is really amazing: when I started to listen to it, it was like I already knew all the songs! It's definitely groovier than the first album and when I put it in my car, people just start to move their head with the rythm, automatically...     Every song is fantastic, but a few favorites are: Now That My Love Is Gone (gorgeous harmonies), You Belong With Me, and The One I Want (more great harmony and beautiful lyrics.) And my #1 from this CD - it's really rare for me to like a remake of a song better than the original but Steve Carlson's version of "She's Not There" is definitely my favorite version. It's brilliant, kind of bluesy, kind of jazzy, and absolutely perfect with his rich, raspy voice.

    I was curious about Steve Carlson's music because I heard Jensen Ackles sang back-up vocals for him, but I bought his cd's because his music is really great. This latest one is the best. Wasted Jaime, Wonder Of My World, and She Loves are my most favorite songs. Most cd's have maybe 2 or 3 good songs on them, but every song on this cd is worth listening to over and over. I highly recommend this cd to anyone who likes great music and songwriting.

    Once again, Steve Carlson delivers pure brilliance in a cd. Having an eclectic taste in music, I was directed to this album through being Jensen Ackles fan and heard that he sung backing vocals. I have to say that regardless of whether he sings backing vocals or not, this album is smokin' hot and I am pleased that I bought it. It is certainly something that everyone should have a copy of.

    I was waiting with baited breath for this CD to come out, and even already knowing and loving Steve's music, still it has totally exceeded my expectations. Not just any artist can write songs that really make you think and feel with their beautiful and insightful lyrics, and also inspire you to indulge in your own private dance party... I have yet to be able to pick a favourite song, although the CD has been getting constant play since it arrived. The updates of the "Spot in the Corner" tunes are fantastic - I didn't think I could love Pinata Novia any more, but I was wrong - and it's thrilling as always to hear what Steve has been working on lately. I can't say enough good things about this album - congrats to Steve on an exquisite effort, and thanks for giving us all the chance to share the love once again.

    I think I just about wore out Steve's myspace page until this album came out. I couldn't get enough of the new music and every time I listen, I have a new favorite. Each song is unique and has a differnt feel to it - I love the new interpreation of Pinata Novia. This is definitely his best work to date.

    I bought this CD as soon as it was released, and it has barely left my CD player since I received it. This one inspires me to rock out in public just as much as his others have. ;-) Steve's voice is fantastic, the songs are lovely, and as always, there's some fun and unique instrumentation throughout. I listen to it on the bus on my way to school and it puts me in a good mood for the day. Steve is a master of the love song--his first CD, Spot In The Corner, made me melt, and Groovin' On The Inside continues to inspire my *ahem* little crush. Who can resist lines like, "I'll take my fingertips on a trip of your body/With nothin' other than my lips to guide me?" Great job, Steve. You have a lifelong fan here.

    5 stars doesn't begin to describe how good Steve Carlson's new CD is. The depth of emotion is beyond brethtaking, and he manages to portray it with both lyric and music. Outstanding!     I've enjoyed listening to the evolution of Steve Carlson's music, and the material on his new CD 'Groovin on the Inside' reflects that growth. His new songs, and new treatments of his older material, show more texture and layers without being over produced. The man is certainly handy with a bridge, much to my enjoyment!     I didn't think it was possible to love Steve's music any more than I already do and then he gives us this CD. There are several new versions of old favorites: "Pinata Novia," "Now That My Love Is Gone," and "Wasted Jamie." My absolute favorite song on the album is "I Don't Want to Know"...it's a beautiful song. Overall, this is an amazing CD that you should definitely check out!

    This cd has something for everybody. A couple re-works of some great songs, which are always cool to hear. Some songs stay nice and sweet, and some have a great soul/funk beat to em. My favorite songs (in no particular order) are She's Not There, Don't Move On and Wonder of My World. I listened to this cd somewhere around 6 times on my drive back from LA after snagging the cd up at his show. People I passed by on the road were probably wondering why I was dancing and singing while driving, but it's something that can't be helped while listening to this cd.
