notes
Songwriter/Composer/Singer/Musician, Stan Tingle comes from a long line of self-taught musicians going back several generations. Raised in a home where music was always playing either on a turn-table, the radio, or “LIVE” in the family living room or kitchen, it was inevitable that he would develop this gift into the songs, sounds and emotions you will find in his music.
The 13 tracks on LEGACY were written and recorded over a five year period, and depicts the heart and soul of a new and fresh genre of music Stan refers to as Gospel-HillbillyFunk.
Stan plays all of the instruments except for a few electric piano tracks played by his older brother Kirby, and Mark Schult playing keys on the "Old River" track. Jeka Tingle performs the lead vocals on the opening track, “LIARS”, and sings backup harmonies on several others.
Other facts:
Stan has performed in several bands over the years. The last band he performed on stage with was composed of family members. The band was called “NEST”, and featured older brother Kirby on keyboards and vocals, younger brother Randy on Bass and vocals, Jeka Tingle on lead vocals, and Stan on vocals and acoustic/electric guitars. The band was known for their beautiful vocal harmonies and wide spectrum of cover material ranging from ZZ Top and Cream, to Dan Fogleberg and Joan Osborne.
In 2004, Stan wrote the radio jingle for the Washington State Parks radio advertisements. It was an acoustical melody he called “Pauline’s Dream” (named after his Granny), and it played on all the Pacific Northwest AM and FM radio stations for over a year.
Stan has also provided guitar and vocal studio session work for other indie artist across America.
"I truly hope that you enjoy LEGACY, and that some of these songs will lead you into the spiritual place that only music can take you... Thanks for listening". -st

From front to back, gorgeous and meaningful; intricately woven
author: VI66Stanley Tingles latest offering, Legacy; is forcing me to the realization that there is life left for music; vibrant and full, well thought out and tasteful. And what a taste it is...sweet and creamy smooth. The sounds that make up Legacy should feel right at home with you. Many of the styles you know and the material should strike you as familiar upon first listen. Make no mistake; Legacy is all Stanley Tingle. All I am saying is that I am very "at home" with the overall sound and I think you will be as well. I must give this record a "Five Star" review. From front to back, gorgeous and meaningful; intricately woven and once again...smooth, creamy and tasteful. Legacy is nothing short of a genius effort. Born of a man that in my humble opinion is at one with his art. VI66
"...we thought ... you was ... a toad"
author: Brother MarkFeaturing masterful guitarwork and both gritty and haunting vocals, Legacy is a trip back to truly original, fine-crafted compositions. Each song is an artpiece that tells a story. Personally, I hear everything from echos of Pink Floyd to the Soggy Bottom Boys alongside completely new sounds. The guitar-work in this album is spellbinding and the layered vocal harmonies are so tight they raise the hairs on your neck. Whether the lead vocals are by Stan or by his talented daughter Jessica, they are gorgeous, rich and captivating. Songs on this album are brilliant and diverse, some fusing influences of traditional American south and Stan's own brand of Hillbilly Funk, while others are so sweet and layered that they seem to shine. My favorite is "Back Road to Vicksburg" - this is a masterpiece of harmonies and composition that is so beautiful and heartfelt it brings a tear to the eye. "Moonpie" is a shuffling, funky toe-tapper and "Chain Smokin' Mama" is a gritty, hysterically funny tribute to the most unlikely of characters. "In the Pines" and "Don't Break Me" showcase Stan's talent on a variety of instruments and includes his own layered harmony vocals reminiscent of "Oh Brother, Where art Thou?" You’ll love this album, -Brother Mark
Excellent work,Love the variety of songs
author: DEADWATER MONKI really like the diversity of songs, shows Stans songwriting abilities. Also the performances of instrumentation were very good.If I had to pick a favorite song,it would be between MOONPIE and OLD RIVER. Very nice work.
Terrific! I just love this kinda music.
author: Kelly MartinThank you Stan, Jessica, and family for making my day brighter. I have the CD in my car and regularly play it on my work commute. My favorites are Liar, Moonpie, and Chain Smokin' Mama.
Great CD. Many variations of tune types/styles.
author: Ken BooneI liked the CD, but especially enjoyed "Moonpie" and "Chain Smokin Mama". My tastes are more towards harder rock, so most of the songs were too mellow for my listening taste right now. The first song had great lyrics and I liked the woman's voice.
Great Tunes!
author: MarkGreat CD. My favorite song was MoonPie. But the whole CD ROCKS!
Wonderful!
author: stephanieThe music sounds wonderful. You did a great job, Jessica sounds awsome. I hope my cd gets to be autographed someday!!
Legacy - A Musical Journey
author: JeffLegacy is a collection of heartfelt songs lovingly created by the talented singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Stan Tingle. There is truly something here for everyone. As if imitating the artwork on the CD face (a vinyl record) Legacy has two complementing sides. I tend to gravitate to the classic Americana and fun Rockers on the second half of the disk. The old-timey sounds of “Don’t Break Me” and “In the Pines” will make you want to put on a fake beard and dance a jig just like George Clooney in “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”!! The sweet southern sounds of “Back Road to Vicksburg” and “Old River” take us on a journey down highway 80 to the Mississippi Delta and on to “the center of the sky, where rainbows go to die”. Throughout the disk the effort is full of richly colored layers of harmony and thought-provoking lyrics that will make you laugh, cry, and then make that call to a distant loved-one you have been putting off.
Great songs, excellent musicianship and fine recording!
author: Troy MossFrom spooky spine tingling sweetness to funky hill stomps this CD takes you right down to the deep south. Stan paints pictures with his music...."Old River" takes me right to the edge of the mighty Miss`sip with the lyrical imagery and melodical mastery. "Moon pie" plays a song from the sound track of my life, dirt road....walkin' to the old country store....get me somethin' sweet and a co` cola! Takes me right back home!
Sensational Guitar Licks!Lyrical Masterpiece!Wide Spectrum of Musical Instrument
author: RatmanExcellent work! The guitar licks make the hair on the back of my neck stand up! Hillbilly Funk like it should sound. My favorite is "Don't Break Me" really gets my foot stompin'...I can't wait for the next CD!!
