notes
Stan enjoys performing. He is a talented natural actor
and singer. He sings a variety of musical styles and
genres, ranging from easy listening, light jazz,
country-politan, pop, light rock, to Christian music.
Stan originally hails from Sapulpa, Okla., a town near
Tulsa, Okla., and currently lives in Houston, Texas.
Acting and singing has had an important place in his life from the time he was a small child. Stan and his brother Steve sang with their mother in church as she sang & played the piano. Stan can remember, as little boy sitting by himself and making up songs to entertain himself during quiet times. Although, those songs are long gone he has retained his desire to continue with music.
Stan has acted in a number of lead roles in church productions and sung with a number of groups, choirs, quartets, and ensembles. He has sung sang lead in a number of quartets and groups such as the "Gospel Representatives," in northeast Oklahoma and more recently he sang with First Praise, as a principal soloist in Houston, TX.
Stan's vocal range is A, 2 octaves below middle C, to D, an octave above middle C. Stan can sing Bass, Baritone, and/or Tenor parts (but not all at once!)
Stan is a member of The St. Laurence Chamber Singers in Sugar Land, Texas and has had a number of classical solo pieces. The Chamber Singers perform classical selections in concerts semi-annually under the direction of Mr. Kevin Klotz.
Comments of listeners to Stan's music are frequently "what a lovely voice," "easy on the ears," "easy to listen to," "calming and relaxing," "beautiful," "rich," "smooth," "melodic," "resonant," ... the list goes on. His voice has a rich sensuousness resulting from the bass tones carried into the higher notes. He believes the failure to communicate the emotion of a song belongs to the singer and he does everything he can to bring the emotion into the music.
Stan has had lead acting and singing roles in many programs, plays, and musicals. He has held such roles as the Chancellor of the Exchequer in " The Mikado" and Krups in "Bluebeard". Most recently and most significantly, he portrayed Professor Harold Hill in the production of the Broadway musical, "The Music Man."
Stan currently has 4 CD's available, "Christmas Centerpiece," "Reflections," "Always Love," and
"Heartstrings."
