Orgasmic Folk Rock

notes

Stampead has emerged from the independent rock scene as pioneers of a new sound. Separate from their influences, their songs have been defined only in new ways….Syd Barret passing through Kentucky, Bob Dylan on speed, Andres Segovia playing backup for Leonard Cohen. Their sound is always honest, stemming from their loyalty to the stage. Stampead’s signature comes in the form of a punch in every song…from the slow moving ballads to the high speed guitar battles, Stampead has the need to hit you hard.

The newest release, Milk and Honey, promises to be their best effort yet. The recording of the epic title track, Milk and Honey, is the long awaited live hippie favorite. The painfully beautiful Good Morning has brought new meaning to a common phrase with melodies reminiscent only of the Beatles . Vocalist Judd David shines on the high powered tracks Sinners, Saints, & Accidents and Laid Down, trading vicious lines with guitar solos while a relentless rhythm section powers the race. Perhaps the most refreshing aspect of Stampead is their ability to make pain beautiful. Good Respiration will force you to exhale as you are taken through the sorrowful joy of the last smoke of the night. Their take on the classic Talking Heads tune, Psycho Killer, is a true Stampead cover…it will trample all over you.
