Review of Funerals of Sparrows
From
The Unheard Music.
Clever music and Christianity may seem exclusive of one another to some. On
?Funerals of Sparrows?, percussionist/guitarist Stephen Roach offers a 45 minute
ride through the mysteries of faith with an engaging collection of songs, rich with
Afro-Cuban and ?world? rhythmic content. Dourbake, doumbec, congas, shofar,
djembe, timbales, Moroccan bongos, bodhran, rique, and traditional drums lay the
foundation for the guitar, synthesizer, add?l voice, bass guitar, violin, ?cello? hammer dulcimer which provide melodic and drone accompaniment.

Something fresh, like the air we need to breathe, anointed....
author: Rhonda R. CozartThis CD,Funeral of Sparrows offers something that is like a breath of fresh air, not the same old same old yet the message is there and conveyed to the listener because I believe it comes from a heart that has experienced life on both sides of the fence and the side he is now on is the One that has inspired and anointed this project.I really believe the song, The Secret Place Of Thunder, could or rather, should be used on a movie or something, beautiful song. I'd recommend this cd to anyone who is searching or who has found God, and needs to be reminded that they're not alone. This is my review, how I see it. Thanks!
