And the story of the Truck...
Winner of 2003'S Austin Music Award for best psychedelic/experimental-rock, selected as a 'SXSW sleeper' by Raoul Hernandez in the Austin Chronicle, and specially selected to play the 2002 and 2003 Austin City Limits Music Festival; Spacetruck's new full length CD release, 'Night Rider', is a potent mixture of pop hooks, psychedelic riffs, and no-apologies rock&roll.
Singles from 'Night Rider' have been making waves on college radio around the country while their live shows have been packing Stubb's, Emo's, and the Mercury locally as well as generating buzz on tour in New Orleans, Chapel Hill, Atlanta, Boulder, and Athens.
"Residing where the galaxy and the gutter meet, SpaceTruck is the jam band that wants to be a glam band... [T]he Austin group's sterling new CD 'Night Rider' gives a weary, punkish snarl to swirling guitars and relentless rhythms, suggesting an acid trip on the Bowery" - Michael Corcoran, Austin American-Statesman

Swaggering, 60's rock-bred, gritty, indie-alternative edge rock splattered with psychedelic and emo rock, indie fuzz and a rebellious punk vibe. Trading off between lush and raucous, swirly and sassy, this Velvet Underground and Rolling Stones-infused bad-boy sound is immediately infectious. Armed with immortal guitar lines and a knack for carving out a niche for their muse, Spacetruck, oh-so appropriately named, really does blast you into the stratosphere with a silly smile plastered on your face.
