This CD features an eclectic blend of pop, retro rock n' roll, some folk and even surf rock, and tasty guitar jams. Sounds old and new at the same time. Think '80s mixed with '60s and a 21st century sheen.

notes

Space Debris is as underground band as there ever was. The Sacramento/San Francisco Bay Area's best kept secret, Space Debris shows off a harder edge to its sound on "It's Not Rocket Science."

The conversational psychedelic jams, the humor, and the surprise covers that emerge during a typical Space Debris performance is all captured on this CD.

From the camp opening track "Kapital," which pokes fun at our addictions to money, to the folksy roots music of the final track, a anthemic version of Dylan's "Chimes of Freedom," Space Debris takes you to so many different places.

It is the unexpected that makes Space Debris so fun. "Half Astral Trip" was a pure play on improvisational rock, while "Phases" was a song literally stitched together in the studio, merging surfer slide guitar with an acoustic trills. Sounds lile the Monkees meet Dick Dale and String Cheese Incident.

"Windows," "Existential Boogie" and "Let Go!" are quintessential Space Debris originals, sounding like a cross between '80s pop, '60s British Invasion Top 40 music, and retro good old fashioned rock 'n roll.

Hell, Space Debris does not fit any one category, and that is the blessing as well as the curse.

But what this CD really has is spunk, soul and heart. Check it out!
