South Hill Productions has always wanted to make there own style of music. Attending underground hip hop shows in the PA area provided the motivation to craft there own brand of hip hop instrumentals.
2006 marks the beginning of the creative process for South Hill Productions imprint. With help from fellow artist SL aka Super Lyrical from Repeat Offenders, South Hill Productions has begun to develop a style all there own - a mix of soul tinged with an emotionality that the listener can truly feel.
THE ALBUM: Soul Sessions Vol. 1 is NOT you typical hip hop CD. Featuring production influenced by many styles of music (hip hop, jazz, blues, spanish, and more), South Hill Productions employs the assistance of underground artists and DJs from Pennsylvania and beyond to create thought provoking, innovative concept tracks. Not limited to just hip hop, you can find r&b soul music, as well as instrumentals that are good enough to stand completely on their own...not to mention concepts that have become a lost art in today's music climate - tracks exclusively for the DJ. South Hill's Soul Sessions Vol. 1 is one of the great things to happen to underground music in a long time, and is well worth the listen.

Top Quality Hip Hop Musicianship
author: S. JacksThis is a rare find in Hip Hop albums: dope production from beginning to end, and a great lineup of artists providing creative, interesting concept tracks. Also, when is the last time you heard a CD that featured tracks exclusively for a DJ? Soul Sessions Vol. 1 is one of those albums that a true Hip Hop fan NEEDS to experience. Excellent work.
