____
This CD is a great example of the new soul music of today that is recognizing and "reconnecting" to the genre's essential heritage. This album features eight voclists who infuse these 14 tracks with new and original music.
Two years in the making, Soul Project's tracks draw on such timeless production influences as the MG's, The Funk Bros., Thom Bell, and others. If "Hitsville" was still operating today, might "Been In The Storm Too Long" have been cut there? Or, "Somethin' You Got" at Philly's Sigma Sound? Or, perhaps "Snake In The Bag" or "Corporate Man" at Stax? All of these influences and more shine through on this CD.
Internet soul site Save Our Soul says of the Soul Project "Reconnection" CD, "Miss it at your peril"!

Some of the best music I've heard in years.
author: Tony KingSpirit Records has a real hit cd on thier hands. This music reminds me of current music as well as music from the disco era, which was some of the best dance music in history. The horns in this cd are awsome. What talent!! Mandel Evans' Corporate Man is my favorite cut. It reminds me of "Me" driving to work in the morning. Can't wait to see what Spirit Records comes up with next. Thanks Tony King
A new collection of great soul-jazz songs has been born!!!!
author: Sandy BellSoul Project is a much needed piece of fourteen original songs that gives the listener refreshing melodies and rhythms, a dimension that has been lost in this era of vapid commercial music. This collection of well-crafted tunes lauches him to the top as a new producer and song crafter who has molded new art from the membranes of the great soul music era. His well chosen artists deliver powerful performances and leave you smiling that finally someone is contributing to music in a rewarding way. Just listen to Right Here, Right Now and Good Girl Gone and see for yourself. Gratefully, we applaud your contribution Mr. Bradford. S. Bell
It is rare to have 14 favorites but with this collection I do!
author: Nat SpeirBill Bradford's SOUL PROJECT/Reconnection is something special. The eight (count em!) talented and experienced vocalists all demonstrate great pipes AND a keen sense of interpretation. The songs reflect a rich R&B heritage-yet they stand on their own as viable, contemporary "pure songs". The playing is tasty and unobtrusive. In this case it takes no effort to experience the vocal performances and the melodies and lyrics. Songs range from the witty to the haunting. I think SOUL PROJECT/Reconnection may be the start of something big. Great "vision". Great work done by all.
good tunes, writing, variety, old soul returns.....
author: Melia WolfExcellent CD. Bill Bradford sure knows how to pick his singers.Great choices for his SOUL PROJECT! I liked GOOD GIRL GONE, #5, and noticed that Pamela North the singer, co-wrote MIDNIGHT SYMPHONY too. Could she be one of his new hidden talents? Maria Howell, Sonja Greer, Debbie Dobbins....He's helped promote some great singers. And Pervis Lee, man, that is awesome. Like right out of my soul. Kudos!
