Distinctively Soulframe, "Escaping Entropy" is a fine collection of modern, melodic rock tunes. The trademark sense of vulnerability and lyrical honesty is delivered without becoming overly sentimental and Soulframe's sound is both strong and atmospheric

Album Notes

"If rock is a rebellion, then why not lead the rebellion into goodness... and hope...?" lead singer Mutto captures something of the heart of Gold Coast four piece Soulframe. Indeed, historically good rock n roll has been driven by rebellion, and in a war-torn 21st century world, Soulframe are finding much to rebel against. The bands appropriately titled 2nd album Escaping Entropy, launched to over 1000 fans at Brisbane's Tivoli theatre, while certainly uplifting lyrically, is also drawing widespread critical acclaim. Entropy has so far collected a swag of awards including a win and 3 further nominations at Musicoz, a Pacific Songwriting Award, two of the top 10 spots in the Australian Songwriters Association Awards, and top spot in Sea Fm's 'Unsigned' competition. Soulframe's growing reputation has also received endorsement from their peers, leading to supports with New Zealand/OC favorites Evermore, UK band Delirious, and with Aussie rockers Grinspoon and MotorAce. In a world where rebellion is being revolutionised (to the point where 'straight-edge' has become the new 'hardcore'), perhaps there is an opportunity for the rebellion that is rock and roll to find a new potency. Soulframe believe so passionately, and are intent on taking their rebellion to the world. SOME WORDS ON SOULFRAME "Full of musical precision... an album of heartfelt and driven musical excursions... an esky full of ice blocks for a Saturday afternoon in the park, occasionally dipping into darker territory, only to emerge moments later with a broad smile on its face." Robert Lukins, Time Off Magazine "Soulframe are one of the bright lights among a new breed of bands who have great tunes and something to say." - Dave Drinkall, Rhubarb/Toupee Records "...their problem isn't lack of singles, it's which songs to choose from because near half the record is ripe for the airwaves." - Stu McPhee, Atlantis Records & Ear Medicine "...the music stands out and is absolutely compelling... well constructed with imaginative lyrics and the lead singer's voice is simply outstanding." - Belinda Sanders, ABC Radio • Won Gold Coast 90.9 Sea FM's 'Unsigned' 2005 • 1st place 2005 Pacific Songwriters Comp 'Rock/Metal/Indie' category for 'Thread' • 3rd and 6th place Australian Songwriting Association's Songwriting Contest 2005, for 'Tonight' and 'Loved' • Finalist 2005 Jaxter Artist Awards for 'Loved' • Won best song in category, & nominated for 4 additional awards including 'Artist of the Year' at 'Musicoz', Dec '04 for 'Tonight'

One of Australia's BEST

Soulframe is definitely one of Australia's best bands. Why they’re not better known and being played on radio is beyond me. When I think of Soulframe, Switchfoot comes to mind; amazing lyrics with a powerful message, and each song is as incredible as the last. Escaping Entropy is definitely one the best CDs I own.

Soulframe are one of those bands that could become big! To me, a definite amateur listener, Escaping Entropy shows a good range across the rock spectrum. A couple of tracks are more hard rock than my taste, but I particularly love "Tonight" (can be downloaded for free from www.soulframe.com). Overall - the album has great sound. Awesome work, guys.

Yes!!

Soulframe's latest album Escaping Entropy is a must buy item!! don't think for a second that a little sample of this album will leave you full....no way, you will be asking for the second and third course in no time. Songs range from mellow/smooth sounding John Mayer or Jack Johnson type muse to your more indy type hard core songs. the lyrics are compelling and speak of a deeper truth that cannot readily be found in mainstream bands. you are left feeling completely satisfied. warning: extremely addictive.
