Singer and composer SONIA LOINSWORTH gives concerts with her own compositions for the Tibetan Buddhist Mantras.
Inspired by Hindustani, the classical northern Indian music, harmonic chant and Gregorian chant, Sonia blends the traditional with contemporary music in a new musical expression.
Sonia has released two critically acclaimed albums with new songs for the Tibetan Mantras, and tours in Europe with both concerts and workshops in 'Mantra chanting'.
Her albums are particularly appreciated for their musical and meditative depth, and serve as a powerful support for a meditation practice.
They are also in use in yoga classes, in meditation/awareness workshops, subtle energy and bodywork sessions and much more.

In concert, Sonia focuses on the artistic expression as well as the deepening potential of the Mantra chanting.
She gives solo concerts and plays with musicians who have been trained in the classical northern-Indian tradition.

Sonia gives Charity concerts for Tibet Care on a regular basis. The proceeds from the ticket sales will be channeled through Shechen, The Dilgo Khyentse Fellowship to support orphans within Tibet.

    Where more popular artists in the mantra-world rely on a rather watered down and sugary presentation of these ancient sounds, Sonia Loinsworth makes them western and yet preserves all the depth and healing power. This Norwegian singer and practicing Buddhist has a deep and rich voice, well schooled technically and sings with both passion and spirituality that transfers to the listener. She uses multitracked vocals, sounding like a whole ministry! backed by inventive keyboards by Frode Fjellheim. I have used this CD a couple of years for meditation and healing purposes and it's as enriching and profound today as the first time I heard it.
