notes
solo eClypse is fresh, new music from a new, solo artist. My goal is to create a refreshingly different musical experience that takes your mind, spirit and soul into realms of tranquility, smiles, upbeat energy or deep introspection. This is done through a wide variety of styles and instrumentation. From glorious soundscapes such as "Midnight, Glacier Bay" and "Serengeti Synthesis" to the jazz-funk experimentation of "Cubism" and "Stalker". From hauntingly beautiful fireside pieces like "Spring Thaw" and "Rain Song" to the spiritually intense "The Glorious Path", each track is unique and never boring. Comparisons have been made to Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Mark Isham, even an occasional hint of Pink Floyd. Fresh, innovative, with rhythms and tempos that move you forward while encouraging your mind to paint your own individual scenescapes, you'll find yourself tuned into "Unsettled Dreams" on the road, at your computer and by the fireside.

Unsettled Dreams is like a a mini-retreat - even without having to leave your ho
author: Julie & JonathanScott, we couldn't wait to pop in our autographed copy of your CD - Wow!! What a treat! Unsettled Dreams is an amazing combination of creative sounds that refresh, enlighten, invigorate, and inspire the listener to think outside the box. It's like a mini-retreat! We had the pleasure of a sneak peek into the music on this CD prior to production. My son, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, immediately stopped everything to listen to the "cool" music playing on our computer. Ironically, his favorite song is "Stalker" because it reminds him of the Titanic. While listening to this song, Jonathan closes his eyes and watches the Titanic story unfolds. Each clang and sound is an interpretation of the various events of that tragic night. Scott has an amazing musical talent that meets the listener on an individual level! It has sparked the imagination I had forgotten existed. In every song, there is a story. I would encourage you to take the time to listen and explore as your personal story unfolds! It will be time and money well spent! A better retreat package at this price does not exist! I guarantee it!
dreamy
author: GA1groomerBetter than Calgon for slipping into a relaxing mood.
A collection of lovely and restrained songs that is surprisingly listenable.
author: msthangI don't usually like this type of music, but was given this CD as a gift and was pleasantly surprised and impressed at how enchanting and sophisticated the melodies and effects are. I actually listened to it a few times! If this is really the first time product of a fledgling artist, I'm even more impressed! Looking forward to hearing more.
True Pleasure
author: DarleneI am a big fan of music from Yanni and John Tesh and now I can add Scott Pollak to the list. This CD is soothing and very enjoyable to listen to. My days are hectic and rushed - this CD calms my spirit and relaxes my soul. I am looking forward to the next release.
i really loved it..it was so new and awesome sounding

Trippy
author: Groovy Lizard ChickIt's like, so cool ... and abstract. Some songs make you wanna dance, others make you want to take a nap. A good nap. A nap that you dream dreamy thoughts about abstraction. It's really beautiful and whispy at times and then tough & roughed up at others. This dude is one of the best I've ever heard in ambient music!
sensory experience
author: bobAmbient awesome. I love the layers of surprises he puts into the music. It's a great way to spend an hour. Sitting in my favorite chair enjoying my new favorite artist. Money well spent!
Superb first outing
author: Jed Butler"Unsettled Dreams" is a mostly astonishingly mature offering from a fledgling artist (Scott Pollak) who self-produced it barely two months after being given a synthesizer. Until I got my hands on this little CD, I gave little credence to "space music", so I honestly didn't expect much. The album opens with the haunting title track, whose title does not do it justice. "Lunar Twilight" lulls you in with texture, then introduces an insistent house beat which moves us through a full song structure much like your favorite pop artist. The next number, "Midnight, Glacier Bay", has no such ambitions, but is content to pull us mentally into a sacred, if somewhat cool, space. "Shadowy Secrets" initially brings to mind the Popcorn-y song from "Fletch". It's fun--but corn is the applicable metaphor here. I found myself looking for Dr. No with an imaginary Glock clutched to my chest. The suspense & energy continue with "Relentless", which HAS to be the soundtrack for someone's next dark, edgy sci-fi urban thriller. Unfortunately, this mood is ruined by the only stinker, a boogie-woogie experimental synth dud called "Cubism". But Pollak redeems himself quickly with a shift into sonic collage "Elk City, 1959", a flatland paean to place, politics & personal history. "Liquid Assembly" requires patience: initially unimpressive, it wears well thanks to a blend of ambient washes of voice & organ driven by percussion & stacatto percolation. Likewise, "Spring Thaw" takes its time in developing, but blossoms well into the sweaty tribal feel of "Serengeti Synthesis" & the pulsating, almost industrial tension of "Stalker"--two more numbers whose emotional content should not be judged by their stereotypical titles. The paranoia of "Stalker" resolves (a bit too quickly for my taste)into "Rain Song", which uses romantic Rhodes piano to sensuous effect, taking us back into the jungle, this time in the middle of a thunderstorm. In its afterglow, we are transported onto "The Glorious Path". At heart, then, eClypse is a nomad. Rarely have I traveled this far in my dreams.
