notes
Dream de la Dream is the ultimate dream.. a completely clean soce CD!! Radio-friendly versions of all your favorite soce hits plus exclusive tracks you can't get on any other soce CD!!!
"Soce is a musical and lyrical alchemist. He gets on stage wearing a wizard hat, announces what his next cunning feat or stunt will be and then does it, leaving you shaking your head and saying 'No... He... DIDN'T!'
"If Soce the Elemental Wizard didn't exist someone would have to invent him."
- Dutchboy of Rainbow Flava
"Some of the illest beats from the illest angles I've ever heard."
- Breez Evahflowin
"His performances are way more subtle and interesting than they seem at first. Once you get over the novelty, there's still all this STUFF to seize your attention."
- Dan Fishback of Cheese on Bread
"SOCE, THE ELEMENTAL WIZARD
Sidewalk Cafe, 94 Ave A
Forget that self-consciously ironic novelty hip-hop. Soce (So-SAY), who as a website quote claims, 'represents the New Hampshire rapping community very well,' is fa real. Being openly gay, white, Jewish, Ivy League-educated, and attired in a felt wizard hat can't obstruct his obviously deep love for heavy gangsta delivery, dope beats, and the occasional organ riff."

BIO:
Like music that uses more than three chords? Want lyrics you can actually understand and relate to? If so, come see soce, the elemental wizard (say it together now: "So-Say"). Although some claim his music is "hip hop," it is better characterized as philosophical poetry performed over funky backgrounds. Blending joy, passion, and humor, soce will sing, rap, and dance his way into your heart.
socetew (-tew representing "the elemental wizard") has been writing and performing his magical and moving music for over ten years, winning fans from all age groups across the United States and throughout the whole world. Since moving to New York City in 2003, his performances have taken on newfound energy and excitement. He is making his mark, standing out among the many other NYC musicians, while at the same time battling such foes as dragons, goblins, and lack of sleep, money, and someone to love.
Dream de la Dream is a journey through the worlds of love, friendship, hip hop, roll playing games and the pursuit of happiness. We hope you will enjoy the ride.

I'm in love with the tunes and the artist!!
author: Bruce MontgomeryWONDERFUL, INGENIOUS
author: Michael DichardI think everyone should have this and all his cd's in your collection you won't be sorry you do. Best lyrics in a long time.
Whose dream is it, anyway?
author: fullerGenetically speaking, the contrast between one human being and the next is negligible; the similarities far outweigh the differences. That looks good on paper, but the theory rarely translates to the real world. Chances are you don't have that much in common with Soce The Elemental Wizard. Rapper, white rapper, gay white rapper, Jewish gay white rapper -- details. His new album Dream de la Dream presents the man's vital stats in no uncertain terms, but also gives voice to the ties that bind. By the end, you'll hear yourself in his lyrics as clear as your own reflection on the back of the CD itself. Beyond having a point, Soce displays a thorough understanding of his material. There is no denying the raw talent and mastery of craft. On songs such as "News" and "Work/Play", content meets form in the same way bullet meets gun. The thick hip hop beats and lush backgrounds propel his plaintive and penetrating lyrics deep into your heart, mind, and gut.
Elementarily Great
author: RadioMikeSOCE THE ELEMENTAL WIZARD is doing Great things with his beats (all Created in SOCE’s Mad Studio). This isn’t Your Traditional Hip Hop, nor is it like the Current Radio Crop of Hip Hop Fluff. This is actually pretty Fun Stuff and He can Rhyme with the Best of Them. And For you Purists, he Also has versions of his CD that are Parental Advisory. You all Better expect Great things from Soce.
Dreamy Successes
author: farmer bobWow--without exaggerating, this is REALLY good. From the ethereal vocals of Feels Good to the toe-thumping beat of Not Wanted, Soce crafts a compelling brand of music with his own unqiue stamp. Unlike other up-and-coming performers, Soce isn't afraid to make fun of himself (witness the refrain of Work/Play, or the self-deprecating gist of I'm That, which reminds us to think twice about the stereotypes we take for granted). At the end of the day, it's Soce's talent as both producer and rapper that carries the album. And, of course, as a singer--Broken Heart could be a Top 10 single (actually, it's better than most). All in all, Dream de la Dream is a tour de force that defies categorization.
The lyrics are sometimes hilarious and always unique. A passionate performer!
author: the panda bearSoce's CD is addictive. The songs are stories you want to hear again and again. I'm not a hard core hip-hop fan, but I love THIS kind of hip hop - clever, real, even self-deprecating. And yet, I would be proud to lend it to my hard-core hip-hop friends.
An artist with surprise after surprise!
author: AnthonyThis CD is an excellent bridge onto the road of "Rap" music for this who have not dared travel that path before. SOCE's background and education are ever present in his lyrics. This forms a type of music less harsh then "street rap" but with more bite then traditional "pop" music. Reminiscent of artists like Mannheim Steamroller in its use of new techniques, this is a very exciting and at times, humorous CD.
