notes
Fran Snyder's long-awaited live acoustic album, with some bonus material.
If you don't have any Fran Snyder CDs in your collection, this would be the place to start. Fran is known for his compelling live and acoustic performances, of which, 7 are included on this disc.
The CD starts with "Ruined," a playful, moody and unique studio track.
The second song "I Left the Seat Up" is a hilarious blues tune which is already a favorite on the Doctor Demento radio show.
---
The CD closes with three songs from previous Fran Snyder releases. "Between the Lines" is from the "stir" CD, which is a blend of acoustic and full-band recordings in the pop-rock vein.
"A Night Like This" is from the CD "Six Strings and Vinyl," Fran's adventurous foray into combining urban beats ( and turnablism ) with groovy, acoustic music. The result is a very unique sound, presented on this disc much like it sounded when played live, by an energetic duo which at times featured several notorious Atlanta DJs including DJ Lord of Public Enemy.
The album closes with "Flyswatter Soup," another hilarious Fran Snyder composition which also closed out "Five Little Monkeys and Other Kidstuff!," Fran's first CD for children and parents.
Each of these CDs is available on CDBaby.

Fran in your home - one way or another!
author: Dean MadoniaFran is a gifted writer and performer and his talent really shines on this collection of some of his best work. I have had the good fortune not only to catch some of Fran's live shows, but we have performed together several times and that is also a treat. Fran's handle is "Drivin man." He has been traveling all over the place for years playing for college crowds and is one of a growing number of artists who are doing "house concerts," (as well as an organizer of them). If you can't afford to fly him out to your remote island castle, this Cd is the next best thing. If you are thinking of hosting a concert in your home, this is a good way to check him out first and then you will know that you are in for a treat.
'Live and Then Some' is fun and then some!
author: Bill MeredithLive and Then Some accurately encapsulated Fran Snyder's recording career, which dates back to the mid-1990s. From the live acoustic solo highlights Mystery and Starting To Believe to the hip-hop-influenced studio piece Ruined - not to mention bonus tracks from prededing releases Stir, Six Strings and Vinyl, and Five Little Monkeys - Snyder proves to be a talent deserving wider recognition. - Bill Meredith, Palm Beach Post
Continued success
author: jcI always look forward to new releases from Fran Snyder becasue he always delivers memorable songs and performances. Fran is one of those rare performers that makes me believe what he's singing about. The combination of live tracks and studio cuts gives great texture to this project. Love it!
