Sleepybird looks like your average folk band, but it's really an avant-garde exploration of noise and sound.

notes
Because of their unique instrumentation, Sleepybird is not something you're likely to hear every day. Imagine if you were listening to half of a chamber orchestra, the folk rhythms and confident lyrics of Bob Dylan, the dizzying crescendoes of the Flaming Lips, the pacing of The Beatles' elegant "Long, Long, Long" and then you gave it all a lush, lo-fi sound like Neutral Milk Hotel. That's about as good of a description as there can be.
Although Sleepybird self-produced their debut album, No Flood, they had assistance from some pretty remarkable people. The recording sessions were engineered by producer G.A. Earl, mastering was done at multi-platinum Studio A in Detroit, and the artwork was created by nationally reknown painter, Kemper.
