On stage, these musician's come together with one main

elevated dance grooves or bassy dance hall riddims;
infectious hip hop beats or drum and bass, jazz-funk
odysseys. The result always being: "Every body moves
and nobody gets hurt."

to create Urban Mind Expansion. A unique and soulful
feeling that speaks to all kinds.

- "Most Chill Slackmob... rocked the crowd fiercely
with their brand of what they call 'Urban Mind
Expansion'. The show was all about throwing down an
ass-shaking block party that ignored musical and
cultural barriers in the name of unity. For Most Chill
Slackmob, rap's heart is more than just drum machines,
discs and dats." SF Bay Guardian

    author: Aimee

I don't know how i got on the slackmob e-mail, but eventually i needed to know who these guys where. So I just ordered, music unheard. I am so glad I did, you guys blew me away, thank you so much for this wonderful addition to my collection.

  • Fuckyeah
    author: Dmac

This is now one of my favorite CDs. These guys seem to have gotten way tighter over the last few years. Fresh party music that pops into my head and gets me into the groove when I'm on my skateboard. Its been bumping in my stereo quite frequently since I got it.

  • Always a pleasure
    author: emclover

As usual, MCSM does not disappoint with the new CD. While I cannot stop listening to "Push it like a star" I love the entire CD. Some are old favorites of mine, but the newbies are bumpin' and just make you want to get up and dance. Highly recommended by a faithful old time fan :)

  • Versatile band... strong album
    author: dj den-digi 4000

Live hip hop bands don't always translate well to CD... as it can be a difficult transition for some to make... however, Most Chill have succeeded greatly with this LP in finding a sweet balance between live instruments and studio production. It's great to hear a band be so versatile on an album without sounding forced at all... these guys fuse all sorts of styles with a smoothness that really showcases their taste and experience. The vocals are also very nice... it's not often that you hear wit and depth sound that catchy. Good stuff... where's the vinyl fellers?

'Enjoy the 1' haunts; 'Can See You' flaunts; and 'Push It' taunts -- each track is anchored by the signature eloquence that you can expect from Momo and King Slack. In addition to the honest rhythms, Urban Mind Expansion flows with beats that could hook Moby Dick. I am thoroughly impressed by this disc. Buy it, put in your player, and see if you can take it out.

  • Booty shaking music that everyone should listen to.
    author: Carolyn

The CD is better than the last one. Most Chill does it again with great new songs that make you want to hear more. My favorite song on the album is the first song, People. The beats and vocals are an amazing mix. The music coming from this band, just keeps getting better and better. Push It (Like a Star) is another great song. It's about the perils of owning a piece of shit car but realizing it's the driver that matters.

  • Most Chill SlackMob is for Most Everybody!
    author: MoshPitGoddess

With Urban Mind Expansion, Most Chill Slackmob has come into their own. The cd is definitely more polished and DJ Ill Media gets a chance to truly shine. This cd has a little bit of everything for everyone. The 6th track, Push it Like a Star (my personal favorite on this cd) has huge potential to be a single. If you like hip hop, reggae, dance, free style, or music in general, you will love this cd!

  • the lyrics ; you can't get out of your head.
    author: stella

The lyrics have depth and they stay with you. Every song is accomplished and finished. It's a CD to listen to over and over and groove to. I've followed the band for the last 6 years and this is it, they've made it!

  • My new favorite CD
    author: Amanda H.

It's hard to say what I like best about this CD--the beats which never fail to get me to move or the lyrics which are smooth, intelligent and exceedingly well-executed. Whatever it is, I have been listening to this CD non-stop since it arrived. It's aural crack.

  • so satisfying it leaves you hungry for more
    author: Christina G.

This CD is thoroughly enjoyable from begining to end - I fricken love it! Grooves that are smooth and fresh, rhymes that are entertaining and clever. These guys got it goin on...I'm hooked.

  • Once again...
    author: D. Sanchez

Slackmob takes it to a new level... Why aren't they signed? Been a fan for years... keeps getting better... don't stop.

  • what are these guys on? and where can I get some?(I have cash)
    author: sergio sissnetti

a completely ecclectic album that manages to represent a common theme or philosophy over the course of thirteen well written pieces. songs that range from euphoric electronica to rugged dirty blues w/o ever leaving the realm of positive originality. A unique and developed example of todays hybridized music scene. I was surprised to find out this band was over ten years into their trip..

  • This is some cool shit!
    author: Chachie McGrits

I'm blown away. This is some unique hip hop, and I can't stop singing "See You Baby" and "Stop a Dog". Good stuff for sure. I'm hooked...

  • Unique, cool, live hip hop. Slammin beats with a message.
    author: Dino Bracelli

This CD has a lot of different styles - underground beats, dub stylings, latin and pop influences. It's a cool mix of drum beats and live musicians. The MCs aren't just the usual whooptie whoop either. They have a message and unique way of saying it. It's a get down and partay disc.
