notes
The new album from SKY RATS has been likened to the music of Foo Fighters, Nickelback, Stereophonics, Chris Rea and with a hint of Greenday here and there.
Featuring 'Don't Look in the Trunk' which was awarded runner up position in the UK Songwriting Competition 2007. The lyrics deal with such issues as smoking, religion, murder, child abuse, journalism and prostitutes looking for mortgages.

This CD is a radio-ready rocker
author: William and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team"Raised to the Ground" by Sky Rats is a grit filled rock album with hints of ska here and there. It features Rob Thomas meets Dave Grohl type vocals, a tight rhythm section and catchy melodies. The songwriting provides relevant lyrics and memorable choruses. This is a radio-ready, totally professional CD, in terms of both the tight sound of this talented band, and the high quality production on the CD. Sky Rats' sound on this CD remind us of the "Mod" bands of the 80's and sound very American for a UK band. Highlights of this album are "Don't Look Now," a big rocker with a driving chorus - a definite pit starter. "Get it All" has a real catchy chorus and is more toward the "Mod" sound, as earlier mentioned. "Out of my Depth" pumps with a cool bass line and sinister vocals. If you like Foo Fighters and Mighty Mighty Bosstones you will enjoy this one.
