notes
David Andersen, the versatile house guitarist at The Country Music Hall of Fame Museum, meets Skip Heller, roots post-punk new jazz whosis in a program that tests the merits of the word "eclectic". The result is one of the most imaginative country/jazz sets imaginable. Standards, country classics, a Wayne Hancock tune, and more.
The interplay between these two guys is off the charts, too. No overdubs, no technical schmeeze. Two guys armed each with a favorite guitar, a Fender amp, and a handful of favorite songs. The result: real live guitar music firmly in the tradition of Hank Garland, Jethro Burns, Chet Atkins, and a host of pickers who made this country (western) great.
