Born in Northern California , SkarLo displayed a natural talent for performing as well as a precociously melodious voice growing up . Over the years he has travelled and sang Background vocals for several artist .
He really enjoyed downtempo and ambient music on the road because it put him at ease . The idea for "Distorted Melodies", started to come into play . A Soundscape, and epic journey into UP and Downtempo music with a street edge. Skarlo's world travel has made him a canvas to all type's of cool music, whether it be pop, hip hop, trance, and house, skarlo does it all.
After about a few years of experimenting with sounds and programs, he began to invent his own sound, a pungent blend of hip hop, house, trance, electronica and soul that he came to dub triphopsoul.
The first Vol "Distorted Melodies" will take you there, just pop the cd in and you chill out, big time.

My Kids love it, Nice background Music!
author: montanahousewifeI heard this CD a while back while visiting The bay area for a wedding . My friends were playing it. I asked my friend , who is that? It's sounds cool . She said Skarlo, we met him at a Bjork concert and he gave us this CD, and we love it. What I really enjoy about it is that there's not alot of singing, there's half songs, and sounds, lot's of instruments and relaxing music. My kid's enjoy it, they play it for their friends when they come over . Check this out!!
Trip Hop Masterpiece
author: aheyheynowSkarlo's "Distorted Melodies" is one of my very favorite CDs ever. I've listened to it numerous times, and it rewards me every time with something new. The lyrics range from ambiguous to deep, and the music itself is trip hop taken to the next level, beyond where others in this genre are playing. Maybe it's the East Oakland flavor that makes this so addictive. This is one album I can bump in my car, groove to under headphones, set a mood around the house, or fill a dancefloor with at a party. Skarlo not only creates intensely trippy musical moods, he sings his butt off, too. What a marvelous voice. Don't miss this one!
