notes
Caveman musicians complain that The Skabs have an unfair advantage over other bands.
They complain that their live internet SkabTV punk comedy show on Ustream is too technically misconstrued for them to imitate. They complain that The Skabs songs have “too many notes” to be underground music. They don’t understand how a talking crow and cooking aliens on the grill have anything to do with punk rock.
Some, who suddenly dredge up staunch conservative values from out of nowhere, ask if The Skabs are so depraved as to sing songs, without a single flutter of shame, about other musicians and call them as they see them. Like Carly said "I Bet You Think The Song Is About You!". While nobody will confuse Carly with The Skabs many confused individuals will think Skab songs are about them and cry foul.
Let’s ignore those complaints and get right down to the title “Revenge of the Skabs”.
What is “revenge”?
It’s an appropriate reaction to inappropriate behavior that remains oblivious to the effect it’s having on others. Payback. Even the score. Justice. What the Punk Rock Brotherhood is based upon in its relationship to stardom delusions and elitist posing.
Why would The Skabs seek “revenge”?
Maybe The Skabs still recall the canceling of their show at CBGB's and being discarded like rubbish?
Listen to this CD and the story shall be revealed in bloated grandeur. A thrilling adventure in prima-donna self-destruction and venue catastrophes. Pseudo-celebrity meltdown mixed with drama queen rivalry despair.
· Why would the mere rumor of this irritating and annoying CD be enough to spark accusations, confrontations, and violence?
· Why would just a glance at the back cover liner notes and parody photo cause fans to fear the satirical de-throning of their (currently) favorite extravagant rock icon?
· What is a “red wiggler” and how old do you have to be to use one?
Unfortunately, we don’t have the answers to these desperate questions now.
Perhaps the solution is to submit to this wild sound ensemble and let the lyrics do your thinking for you. That’s it. Listen to it. LOUD.
Let the vibrations and emotions conquer your self-esteem and make you squirm like a shriveled worm on a radar screen of nightmare grease.
Or join The Skabs in spreading the Skabademic . Discover why in a recent poll on their blog, The Skabs were voted “the best punk band ever” … and why NME (New Musical Express) archives all their music videos.
We sincerely appreciate Black and Blue Records for being so bold and visionary as to release this explosively controversial CD … ”Revenge of the Skabs”.
